乃語曰：『汝等固知猶太人素與他國人不相往來、惟天主已示予勿視人為塵俗不潔；

He said to them:“ You are well aware that it is against our law for a Jew to associate with or visit a Gentile. But God has shown me that I should not call anyone impure or unclean.

He said to them,“ You know that it is against our law for a Jew to enter a Gentile home. A Jew shouldn’t have any close contact with a Gentile. But God has shown me that I should not say anyone is not pure and‘ clean.’

Peter told them,“ You know it is against our laws for a Jewish man to enter a Gentile home like this or to associate with you. But God has shown me that I should no longer think of anyone as impure or unclean.

Peter said to them,“ You know it’s forbidden for a Jewish man to associate with or visit a foreigner, but God has shown me that I must not call any person impure or unclean.

And he said to them,“ You yourselves know that it is forbidden for a Jewish man to associate with or visit a foreigner; and yet God has shown me that I am not to call any person unholy or unclean.

Then he said to them,“ You know how unlawful it is for a Jewish man to keep company with or go to one of another nation. But God has shown me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

and he said unto them, Ye yourselves know how it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to join himself or come unto one of another nation; and yet unto me hath God showed that I should not call any man common or unclean:

Peter said to them,“ You know it’s forbidden for a Jewish man to associate with or visit a foreigner. But God has shown me that I must not call any person common or unclean.

And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

He said to them,“ You know that it is unlawful for a Jew to associate with or visit a Gentile, yet God has shown me that I should call no person defiled or ritually unclean.

He said to them,“ You yourselves know how it is an unlawful thing for a man who is a Jew to join himself or come to one of another nation, but God has shown me that I shouldn’t call any man unholy or unclean.

The Samaritan woman said to him,“ How is it that you, a Jew, ask for a drink from me, a woman of Samaria?”( For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.)

This mystery is that the Gentiles are fellow heirs, members of the same body, and partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel.Of this gospel I was made a minister according to the gift of God’s grace, which was given me by the working of his power.

And God, who knows the heart, bore witness to them, by giving them the Holy Spirit just as he did to us,and he made no distinction between us and them, having cleansed their hearts by faith.

Then they led Jesus from the house of Caiaphas to the governor’s headquarters. It was early morning. They themselves did not enter the governor’s headquarters, so that they would not be defiled, but could eat the Passover.

who say,“ Keep to yourself, do not come near me, for I am too holy for you.” These are a smoke in my nostrils, a fire that burns all the day.

But the voice answered a second time from heaven,‘ What God has made clean, do not call common.’

Just then his disciples came back. They marveled that he was talking with a woman, but no one said,“ What do you seek?” or,“ Why are you talking with her?”

For before certain men came from James, he was eating with the Gentiles; but when they came he drew back and separated himself, fearing the circumcision party.And the rest of the Jews acted hypocritically along with him, so that even Barnabas was led astray by their hypocrisy.But when I saw that their conduct was not in step with the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas before them all,“ If you, though a Jew, live like a Gentile and not like a Jew, how can you force the Gentiles to live like Jews?”

So when Peter went up to Jerusalem, the circumcision party criticized him, saying,“ You went to uncircumcised men and ate with them.”

And he said to me,‘ Go, for I will send you far away to the Gentiles.’”Up to this word they listened to him. Then they raised their voices and said,“ Away with such a fellow from the earth! For he should not be allowed to live.”

So Peter opened his mouth and said:“ Truly I understand that God shows no partiality,but in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him.

The Pharisee, standing by himself, prayed thus:‘ God, I thank you that I am not like other men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.

But Peter said,“ By no means, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean.”And the voice came to him again a second time,“ What God has made clean, do not call common.”
