Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he had come from God and was going back to God,

built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone,

For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.

When the days drew near for him to be taken up, he set his face to go to Jerusalem.

I came from the Father and have come into the world, and now I am leaving the world and going to the Father.”

While he blessed them, he parted from them and was carried up into heaven.

who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, with angels, authorities, and powers having been subjected to him.

Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that his hour had come to depart out of this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.

For Christ has entered, not into holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true things, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God on our behalf.

Therefore it says,“ When he ascended on high he led a host of captives, and he gave gifts to men.”( In saying,“ He ascended,” what does it mean but that he had also descended into the lower regions, the earth?He who descended is the one who also ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.)

Behold my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen, in whom my soul delights; I have put my Spirit upon him; he will bring forth justice to the nations.

But now I am coming to you, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy fulfilled in themselves.

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;

but God raised him on the third day and made him to appear,not to all the people but to us who had been chosen by God as witnesses, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.And he commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one appointed by God to be judge of the living and the dead.

And he said to them,“ Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues;they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.”So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.

But if it is by the Spirit of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.

Paul, an apostle— not from men nor through man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead—

Jesus said to her,“ Do not cling to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brothers and say to them,‘ I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”

And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain,where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf, having become a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.

So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.

The apostles returned to Jesus and told him all that they had done and taught.

Jesus answered them,“ Did I not choose you, the Twelve? And yet one of you is a devil.”

And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.And his delight shall be in the fear of the Lord. He shall not judge by what his eyes see, or decide disputes by what his ears hear,

Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures,and said to them,“ Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead,and that repentance for the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem.You are witnesses of these things.And behold, I am sending the promise of my Father upon you. But stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.”

And he appointed twelve( whom he also named apostles) so that they might be with him and he might send them out to preachand have authority to cast out demons.He appointed the twelve: Simon( to whom he gave the name Peter);James the son of Zebedee and John the brother of James( to whom he gave the name Boanerges, that is, Sons of Thunder);Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Zealot,and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him.

And when Jesus was baptized, immediately he went up from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest on him;

And he called to him his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every affliction.The names of the twelve apostles are these: first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus;Simon the Zealot, and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him.

And when day came, he called his disciples and chose from them twelve, whom he named apostles:Simon, whom he named Peter, and Andrew his brother, and James and John, and Philip, and Bartholomew,and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon who was called the Zealot,and Judas the son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor.

Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of godliness: He was manifested in the flesh, vindicated by the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.

And when they had entered, they went up to the upper room, where they were staying, Peter and John and James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot and Judas the son of James.

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

that you should remember the predictions of the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior through your apostles,

For he whom God has sent utters the words of God, for he gives the Spirit without measure.

He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who conquers I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, with a new name written on the stone that no one knows except the one who receives it.’
