Now as Peter was traveling through all those regions, he also came down to the saints who lived at Lydda.There he found a man named Aeneas who had been bedridden for eight years, because he was paralyzed.Peter said to him,“ Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you; get up and make your own bed.” Immediately he got up.And all who lived at Lydda and Sharon saw him, and they turned to the Lord.Now in Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha( which when translated means Dorcas); this woman was excelling in acts of kindness and charity which she did habitually.But it happened at that time that she became sick and died; and when they had washed her body, they laid it in an upstairs room.Since Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples, having heard that Peter was there, sent two men to him, urging him,“ Do not delay in coming to us.”So Peter got ready and went with them. When he arrived, they brought him into the room upstairs; and all the widows stood beside him, weeping and showing all the tunics and garments that Dorcas used to make while she was with them.But Peter sent them all out and knelt down and prayed, and turning to the body, he said,“ Tabitha, arise.” And she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter, she sat up.And he gave her his hand and raised her up; and calling the saints and widows, he presented her alive.It became known all over Joppa, and many believed in the Lord.And Peter stayed in Joppa many days with a tanner named Simon.

Jude, a bond servant of Jesus Christ and brother of James, To those who are the called, beloved in God the Father, and kept for Jesus Christ:

Now as they observed the confidence of Peter and John and understood that they were uneducated and untrained men, they were amazed, and began to recognize them as having been with Jesus.

As Jesus went on from there, He saw a man called Matthew sitting in the tax collector’s office; and He* said to him,“ Follow Me!” And he got up and followed Him.

Now when they had finished breakfast, Jesus* said to Simon Peter,“ Simon, son of John, do you love Me more than these?” He* said to Him,“ Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He* said to him,“ Tend My lambs.”He* said to him again, a second time,“ Simon, son of John, do you love Me?” He* said to Him,“ Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He* said to him,“ Shepherd My sheep.”He* said to him the third time,“ Simon, son of John, do you love Me?” Peter was hurt because He said to him the third time,“ Do you love Me?” And he said to Him,“ Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.” Jesus* said to him,“ Tend My sheep.Truly, truly I tell you, when you were younger, you used to put on your belt and walk wherever you wanted; but when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands and someone else will put your belt on you, and bring you where you do not want to go.”Now He said this, indicating by what kind of death he would glorify God. And when He had said this, He* said to him,“ Follow Me!”Peter turned around and* saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following them— the one who also had leaned back on His chest at the supper and said,“ Lord, who is the one who is betraying You?”So Peter, upon seeing him,* said to Jesus,“ Lord, and what about this man?”Jesus* said to him,“ If I want him to remain until I come, what is that to you? You follow Me!”Therefore this account went out among the brothers, that that disciple would not die; yet Jesus did not say to him that he would not die, but only,“ If I want him to remain until I come, what is that to you?”This is the disciple who is testifying about these things and wrote these things, and we know that his testimony is true.

So Jesus, after raising His eyes and seeing that a large crowd was coming to Him,* said to Philip,“ Where are we to buy bread so that these people may eat?”But He was saying this only to test him, for He Himself knew what He intended to do.Philip answered Him,“ Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not enough for them, for each to receive just a little!”

But motioning to them with his hand to be silent, he described to them how the Lord had led him out of the prison. And he said,“ Report these things to James and the brothers.” Then he left and went to another place.

After that He went out and looked at a tax collector named Levi sitting in the tax office, and He said to him,“ Follow Me.”And he left everything behind, and got up and began following Him.And Levi gave a big reception for Him in his house; and there was a large crowd of tax collectors and other people who were reclining at the table with them.

And six days later Jesus* took with Him Peter, James, and John, and* brought them up on a high mountain by themselves. And He was transfigured before them;

But Peter, taking his stand with the other eleven, raised his voice and declared to them:“ Men of Judea and all you who live in Jerusalem, know this, and pay attention to my words.

Simon Peter, Thomas who was called Didymus, Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two others of His disciples were together.

After they stopped speaking, James responded, saying,“ Brothers, listen to me.

Lying back on Jesus’ chest was one of His disciples, whom Jesus loved.So Simon Peter* nodded to this disciple and* said to him,“ Tell us who it is of whom He is speaking.”He then simply leaned back on Jesus’ chest and* said to Him,“ Lord, who is it?”

After there had been much debate, Peter stood up and said to them,“ Brothers, you know that in the early days God made a choice among you, that by my mouth the Gentiles would hear the word of the gospel and believe.And God, who knows the heart, testified to them giving them the Holy Spirit, just as He also did to us;and He made no distinction between us and them, cleansing their hearts by faith.Since this is the case, why are you putting God to the test by placing upon the neck of the disciples a yoke which neither our forefathers nor we have been able to bear?But we believe that we are saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, in the same way as they also are.”

Then the slave woman who was the doorkeeper* said to Peter,“ You are not also one of this Man’s disciples, are you?” He* said,“ I am not.”

But I did not see another one of the apostles except James, the Lord’s brother.

And He allowed no one to accompany Him except Peter, James, and John the brother of James.

The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show to His bond servants, the things which must soon take place; and He sent and communicated it by His angel to His bond servant John,who testified to the word of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, everything that he saw.Blessed is the one who reads, and those who hear the words of the prophecy and keep the things which are written in it; for the time is near.

Therefore Thomas, who was called Didymus, said to his fellow disciples,“ Let’s also go, so that we may die with Him!”

Now as Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers, Simon, who was called Peter, and his brother Andrew, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.And He* said to them,“ Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of people.”Immediately they left their nets and followed Him.Going on from there He saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and his brother John, in the boat with their father Zebedee, mending their nets; and He called them.Immediately they left the boat and their father, and followed Him.

And when day came, He called His disciples to Him and chose twelve of them, whom He also named as apostles:Simon, whom He also named Peter, and his brother Andrew; and James and John; and Philip and Bartholomew;and Matthew and Thomas; James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon who was called the Zealot;Judas the son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor.

Now Peter and John were going up to the temple at the ninth hour, the hour of prayer.And a man who had been unable to walk from birth was being carried, whom they used to set down every day at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, in order for him to beg for charitable gifts from those entering the temple grounds.When he saw Peter and John about to go into the temple grounds, he began asking to receive a charitable gift.But Peter, along with John, looked at him intently and said,“ Look at us!”And he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them.But Peter said,“ I do not have silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you: In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, walk!”And grasping him by the right hand, he raised him up; and immediately his feet and his ankles were strengthened.And leaping up, he stood and began to walk; and he entered the temple with them, walking and leaping and praising God.And all the people saw him walking and praising God;and they recognized him as being the very one who used to sit at the Beautiful Gate of the temple to beg for charitable gifts, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

Eight days later His disciples were again inside, and Thomas was with them. Jesus* came, the doors having been shut, and stood in their midst and said,“ Peace be to you.”Then He* said to Thomas,“ Place your finger here, and see My hands; and take your hand and put it into My side; and do not continue in disbelief, but be a believer.”Thomas answered and said to Him,“ My Lord and my God!”Jesus* said to him,“ Because you have seen Me, have you now believed? Blessed are they who did not see, and yet believed.”

But Peter and John answered and said to them,“ Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, make your own judgment;

On the next day, as they were on their way and approaching the city, Peter went up on the housetop about the sixth hour to pray.But he became hungry and wanted to eat; but while they were making preparations, he fell into a trance;and he* saw the sky opened up, and an object like a great sheet coming down, lowered by four corners to the ground,and on it were all kinds of four footed animals and crawling creatures of the earth and birds of the sky.A voice came to him,“ Get up, Peter, kill and eat!”But Peter said,“ By no means, Lord, for I have never eaten anything unholy and unclean.”Again a voice came to him a second time,“ What God has cleansed, no longer consider unholy.”This happened three times, and immediately the object was taken up into the sky.Now while Peter was greatly perplexed in mind as to what the vision which he had seen might mean, behold, the men who had been sent by Cornelius had asked directions to Simon’s house, and they appeared at the gate;and calling out, they were asking whether Simon, who was also called Peter, was staying there.While Peter was reflecting on the vision, the Spirit said to him,“ Behold, three men are looking for you.But get up, go downstairs and accompany them without misgivings, for I have sent them Myself.”Peter went down to the men and said,“ Behold, I am the one you are looking for; what is the reason for which you have come?”They said,“ Cornelius, a centurion, a righteous and God fearing man well spoken of by the entire nation of the Jews, was divinely directed by a holy angel to send for you to come to his house and hear a message from you.”So he invited them in and gave them lodging. Now on the next day he got ready and went away with them, and some of the brothers from Joppa accompanied him.On the following day he entered Caesarea. Now Cornelius was expecting them and had called together his relatives and close friends.When Peter entered, Cornelius met him, and fell at his feet and worshiped him.But Peter helped him up, saying,“ Stand up; I, too, am just a man.”As he talked with him, he entered and* found many people assembled.And he said to them,“ You yourselves know that it is forbidden for a Jewish man to associate with or visit a foreigner; and yet God has shown me that I am not to call any person unholy or unclean.That is why I came without even raising any objection when I was sent for. So I ask, for what reason did you send for me?”Cornelius said,“ Four days ago to this hour, I was praying in my house during the ninth hour; and behold, a man stood before me in shining clothing,and he* said,‘ Cornelius, your prayer has been heard and your charitable gifts have been remembered before God.Therefore send some men to Joppa and invite Simon, who is also called Peter, to come to you; he is staying at the house of Simon the tanner, by the sea.’So I sent men to you immediately, and you have been kind enough to come. Now then, we are all here present before God to hear everything that you have been commanded by the Lord.”

Now Simon Peter was still standing and warming himself. So they said to him,“ You are not one of His disciples as well, are you?” He denied it, and said,“ I am not.”One of the slaves of the high priest, who was related to the one whose ear Peter cut off,* said,“ Did I not see you in the garden with Him?”Peter then denied it again, and immediately a rooster crowed.

And he had James the brother of John executed with a sword.When he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded to arrest Peter as well.( Now these were the days of Unleavened Bread.)

Now when the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent them Peter and John,who came down and prayed for them that they would receive the Holy Spirit.( For He had not yet fallen upon any of them; they had simply been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)Then they began laying their hands on them, and they were receiving the Holy Spirit.Now when Simon saw that the Spirit was given through the laying on of the apostles’ hands, he offered them money,saying,“ Give this authority to me as well, so that everyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit.”But Peter said to him,“ May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could acquire the gift of God with money!You have no part or share in this matter, for your heart is not right before God.Therefore, repent of this wickedness of yours, and pray to the Lord that, if possible, the intention of your heart will be forgiven you.For I see that you are in the gall of bitterness and in the bondage of unrighteousness.”But Simon answered and said,“ Pray to the Lord for me yourselves, so that nothing of what you have said may come upon me.”So, when they had solemnly testified and spoken the word of the Lord, they started back to Jerusalem, and were preaching the gospel to many villages of the Samaritans.

and recognizing the grace that had been given to me, James and Cephas and John, who were reputed to be pillars, gave to me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship, so that we might go to the Gentiles, and they to the circumcised.

these people then came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida of Galilee, and were making a request of him, saying,“ Sir, we wish to see Jesus.”Philip* came and* told Andrew; then Andrew and Philip* came and* told Jesus.

And He* took with Him Peter, James, and John, and began to be very distressed and troubled.

One of the two who heard John speak, and followed Him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother.He first* found his own brother Simon and* said to him,“ We have found the Messiah”( which translated means Christ).He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said,“ You are Simon the son of John; you shall be called Cephas”( which is translated Peter).The next day He decided to go to Galilee, and He* found Philip. And Jesus* said to him,“ Follow Me.”Now Philip was from Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.Philip* found Nathanael and* said to him,“ We have found Him of whom Moses wrote in the Law, and the prophets also wrote: Jesus the son of Joseph, from Nazareth!”Nathanael said to him,“ Can anything good be from Nazareth?” Philip* said to him,“ Come and see.”
