同樣，參加比賽的人若不遵守比賽規則，就不可能得獎。

你們不知道嗎？在運動場上賽跑的人雖然個個都在跑，但冠軍只有一個。同樣，你們也要努力奔跑，好獲得獎賞。參加比賽的選手要接受嚴格的訓練，以求贏得桂冠，但這桂冠終必朽壞，我們要贏得的卻是永不朽壞的桂冠。因此，我奔跑不是漫無目標，我擊拳不是打空氣。我嚴格訓練自己，克服自身的軟弱，免得我傳福音給別人，自己卻被淘汰了。

我很快就要來了！你要持守你所擁有的，免得有人奪去你的冠冕。

為此，我按著祂在我身上運行的大能盡心竭力，不辭勞苦。

那美好的仗，我打過了；當跑的路，我跑完了；所信的道，我持守住了。從此，有公義的冠冕為我預備，按公義審判的主會在祂來的那一天把它賜給我，不但會賜給我，也會賜給所有愛慕祂顯現的人。

在試煉中能夠忍耐到底的人有福了，因為他若經得起考驗，就會得到主應許賜給愛祂之人的生命冠冕。

你使他暫時比天使低微一點，賜他榮耀和尊貴作冠冕，派他管理你所造的一切，

你不要害怕將要遭受的苦難。魔鬼要將你們當中的一些人下在監裡，試煉你們，你們必遭受十天的迫害。但你要至死忠心，我必賜給你生命的冠冕。

當然，有些人宣講基督是出於嫉妒和爭強好勝，也有些人是出於善意。

只看見耶穌暫時比天使低微一點，好靠著上帝的恩典為全人類親嚐死亡的滋味。祂因為經歷死亡的痛苦而得到了尊貴和榮耀作冠冕。

其實你們與罪惡搏鬥，還沒有抵擋到流血的地步。

「你們要努力進窄門，因為我告訴你們，將來有許多人想要進卻進不去。

等到大牧長顯現的時候，你們必得到永不衰殘的榮耀冠冕。

二十四位長老就俯伏在坐寶座的那位面前，敬拜那位永活者，又摘下他們頭上的冠冕，放在寶座前，說：

寶座的周圍設有二十四個座位，有二十四位長老坐在上面，他們身穿白袍，頭戴金冠。
