As I urged you when I was going to Macedonia, remain at Ephesus so that you may charge certain persons not to teach any different doctrine,

If you, O Lord, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand?But with you there is forgiveness, that you may be feared.

Now it is superfluous for me to write to you about the ministry for the saints,

And it happened that while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul passed through the inland country and came to Ephesus. There he found some disciples.

And he cried to the Lord,“ O Lord my God, have you brought calamity even upon the widow with whom I sojourn, by killing her son?”

Then the King will say to those on his right,‘ Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me,I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’Then the righteous will answer him, saying,‘ Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink?And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you?And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’And the King will answer them,‘ Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’

But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us,

because of the tender mercy of our God, whereby the sunrise shall visit us from on high

Concerning this salvation, the prophets who prophesied about the grace that was to be yours searched and inquired carefully,

May the Lord grant mercy to the household of Onesiphorus, for he often refreshed me and was not ashamed of my chains,

For who can resist his will?”But who are you, O man, to answer back to God? Will what is molded say to its molder,“ Why have you made me like this?”Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same lump one vessel for honorable use and another for dishonorable use?What if God, desiring to show his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction,in order to make known the riches of his glory for vessels of mercy, which he has prepared beforehand for glory—

For what is our hope or joy or crown of boasting before our Lord Jesus at his coming? Is it not you?

“ To the angel of the church in Ephesus write:‘ The words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand, who walks among the seven golden lampstands.
