波立西拉亞吉拉、以及奧乃西亞一家代我問安。

以是予邀汝等相見、與汝等言蓋予之所以鎯鐺被身者、乃為義塞人所共望之事耳。』

蓋我已為福音之故而成為被鍊加鎖之星使。果能不為威武所屈、侃侃而談、庶幾不辱使命、是所至願也。

仁愛如兄、實令吾歡忭鼓舞、情不自禁；即諸聖之心、亦因兄而獲浣慰焉。

祈我兄仰體基督、有以慰吾之望、寬吾之心。

慈惠待人乃真福、自身必見慈惠渥。

何則、天主不負有心人、對於爾等之工作、爾等之敬愛聖名、供養聖徒、至今未懈、天主必不致忘懷也。

感吾主之相酬兮。實無微而不至。

蓋曩者我饑、爾則食之、我渴、爾則飲之、我作客、爾則納之、我裸、爾則衣之、我疾、爾則視之、我在獄、爾則來探之也。」善者將曰「主乎、吾何曾見爾飢而食之、渴而飲之？又何曾見爾作客而納之、裸而衣之？更何曾見爾有疾、在獄、而探視之耶？」王將謂之曰：「吾實語爾、爾所施於我兄弟中之至微者、即施之於我身也。」

是則此項善舉不僅補聖徒之不足、抑且使眾心感謝天主、於以增益天主之光榮。申言之、若輩既見爾等慈善之明徵、必因爾等之服膺聖道及急公好義、而翕然歸榮於天主矣。同時若輩鑒於爾等之滿被聖寵、嚮往之念、必油然而發、且將為爾祈禱矣。

故望勿以為主作證是羞、亦勿以予之因主被囚為恥。當賴天主之德、毅然與我共為福音而忍辱負重也。

以先知待先知者、其福報亦同乎先知。以義人待義人者、其福報亦同乎義人。若有因門徒名義、而予此中最小者以一勺之水、我確語爾、彼亦不失其報矣。』

慰浣吾心、亦慰浣爾心也；若是者、可不敬乎？

爾等不惟體恤囹圄中人、即自己產業之被劫奪、亦能逆來順受、且欣然自樂、固知另有盡善盡美、可大可久之嗣業在也。

吾願其在大審判日、蒙主慈恩。曩在伊法所時、吾如何承其多方照拂固汝所素稔也。

生前積眾善。後代膺繁祉。
