For which cause I suffer also these things: yet I am not ashamed; for I know him whom I have believed, and I am persuaded that he is able to guard that which I have committed unto him against that day.

予之造次顛沛、備嘗艱辛、亦為此福音而已。然予不以為恥也。無他、予知所仰望者之為誰氏之子、且深信彼之所寄於予者、彼必能保其完整、以待彼日之臨也。

That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet this is no cause for shame, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until that day.

That’s why I’m suffering the way I am. But this gives me no reason to be ashamed. That’s because I know who I have believed in. I am sure he is able to take care of what I have given him. I can trust him with it until the day he returns as judge.

which is why I suffer as I do. But I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed, and I am convinced that he is able to guard until that Day what has been entrusted to me.

That is why I am suffering here in prison. But I am not ashamed of it, for I know the one in whom I trust, and I am sure that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until the day of his return.

Wherefore let them also that suffer according to the will of God commit their souls in well- doing unto a faithful Creator.

Jehovah is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that take refuge in him.

Now unto him that is able to guard you from stumbling, and to set you before the presence of his glory without blemish in exceeding joy,

But of that day and hour knoweth no one, not even the angels of heaven, neither the Son, but the Father only.

( the Lord grant unto him to find mercy of the Lord in that day); and in how many things he ministered at Ephesus, thou knowest very well.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Wherefore also he is able to save to the uttermost them that draw near unto God through him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

who by the power of God are guarded through faith unto a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid: for Jehovah, even Jehovah, is my strength and song; and he is become my salvation.

who shall fashion anew the body of our humiliation, that it may be conformed to the body of his glory, according to the working whereby he is able even to subject all things unto himself.

O my God, in thee have I trusted, Let me not be put to shame; Let not mine enemies triumph over me.

And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee; For thou, Jehovah, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

Fear not; for thou shalt not be ashamed: neither be thou confounded; for thou shalt not be put to shame: for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth; and the reproach of thy widowhood shalt thou remember no more.

each man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it is revealed in fire; and the fire itself shall prove each man’s work of what sort it is.

wherein I suffer hardship unto bonds, as a malefactor; but the word of God is not bound.

and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, and no one shall snatch them out of my hand.My Father, who hath given them unto me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.I and the Father are one.

I pray not that thou shouldest take them from the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil one.

that I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, becoming conformed unto his death;

At my first defence no one took my part, but all forsook me: may it not be laid to their account.But the Lord stood by me, and strengthened me; that through me the message might be fully proclaimed, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

And in his name shall the Gentiles hope.

Into thy hand I commend my spirit: Thou hast redeemed me, O Jehovah, thou God of truth.

Yea verily, and I count all things to be loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but refuse, that I may gain Christ,

looking unto Jesus the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising shame, and hath sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

And Jesus, crying with a loud voice, said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said this, he gave up the ghost.

to the end that we should be unto the praise of his glory, we who had before hoped in Christ:in whom ye also, having heard the word of the truth, the gospel of your salvation,— in whom, having also believed, ye were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,

And he said unto me, Depart: for I will send thee forth far hence unto the Gentiles.And they gave him audience unto this word; and they lifted up their voice, and said, Away with such a fellow from the earth: for it is not fit that he should live.And as they cried out, and threw off their garments, and cast dust into the air,the chief captain commanded him to be brought into the castle, bidding that he should be examined by scourging, that he might know for what cause they so shouted against him.

and stedfastness, approvedness; and approvedness, hope:and hope putteth not to shame; because the love of God hath been shed abroad in our hearts through the Holy Spirit which was given unto us.

even as it is written, Behold, I lay in Zion a stone of stumbling and a rock of offence: And he that believeth on him shall not be put to shame.

for I will show him how many things he must suffer for my name’s sake.

And when the seven days were almost completed, the Jews from Asia, when they saw him in the temple, stirred up all the multitude and laid hands on him,crying out, Men of Israel, help: This is the man that teacheth all men everywhere against the people, and the law, and this place; and moreover he brought Greeks also into the temple, and hath defiled this holy place.For they had before seen with him in the city Trophimus the Ephesian, whom they supposed that Paul had brought into the temple.And all the city was moved, and the people ran together; and they laid hold on Paul, and dragged him out of the temple: and straightway the doors were shut.And as they were seeking to kill him, tidings came up to the chief captain of the band, that all Jerusalem was in confusion.

But the Jews urged on the devout women of honorable estate, and the chief men of the city, and stirred up a persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and cast them out of their borders.

And when there was made an onset both of the Gentiles and of the Jews with their rulers, to treat them shamefully and to stone them,they became aware of it, and fled unto the cities of Lycaonia, Lystra and Derbe, and the region round about:

who was foreknown indeed before the foundation of the world, but was manifested at the end of the times for your sake,who through him are believers in God, that raised him from the dead, and gave him glory; so that your faith and hope might be in God.

And this is the will of him that sent me, that of all that which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day.For this is the will of my Father, that every one that beholdeth the Son, and believeth on him, should have eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

For the Lord Jehovah will help me; therefore have I not been confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be put to shame.

Then shall mine enemies turn back in the day that I call: This I know, that God is for me.

Then Paul answered, What do ye, weeping and breaking my heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.

but if a man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God in this name.

And again, Isaiah saith, There shall be the root of Jesse, And he that ariseth to rule over the Gentiles; On him shall the Gentiles hope.Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy by thy name, and by thy name cast out demons, and by thy name do many mighty works?

For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succor them that are tempted.

For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus in behalf of you Gentiles,—if so be that ye have heard of the dispensation of that grace of God which was given me to you- ward;how that by revelation was made known unto me the mystery, as I wrote before in few words,whereby, when ye read, ye can perceive my understanding in the mystery of Christ;which in other generations was not made known unto the sons of men, as it hath now been revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets in the Spirit;to wit, that the Gentiles are fellow- heirs, and fellow- members of the body, and fellow- partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel,whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of that grace of God which was given me according to the working of his power.Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, was this grace given, to preach unto the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;

And I am no more in the world, and these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep them in thy name which thou hast given me, that they may be one, even as we are.While I was with them, I kept them in thy name which thou hast given me: and I guarded them, and not one of them perished, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they may be saved; to fill up their sins always: but the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost.

But thou didst follow my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, patience,persecutions, sufferings; what things befell me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: and out of them all the Lord delivered me.Yea, and all that would live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

No man can come to me, except the Father that sent me draw him: and I will raise him up in the last day.

And they stoned Stephen, calling upon the Lord, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.

And Paul and Barnabas spake out boldly, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first be spoken to you. Seeing ye thrust it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.

But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief:

I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city.

according to my earnest expectation and hope, that in nothing shall I be put to shame, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether by life, or by death.
