In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we command you, brothers and sisters, to keep away from every believer who is idle and disruptive and does not live according to the teaching you received from us.

Brothers and sisters, here is a command we give you. We give it in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Keep away from every believer who doesn’t want to work and makes trouble. Keep away from any believer who doesn’t live up to the teaching you received from us.

Now we command you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you keep away from any brother who is walking in idleness and not in accord with the tradition that you received from us.

And now, dear brothers and sisters, we give you this command in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ: Stay away from all believers who live idle lives and don’t follow the tradition they received from us.

Now we command you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to keep away from every brother or sister who is idle and does not live according to the tradition received from us.

Now we command you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you withdraw yourselves from every brother who walks in rebellion, and not after the tradition which they received from us.

我們在你們那裡的時候，曾經吩咐過你們，如果有人不肯作工，就不可吃飯。因為我們聽說，你們中間有人游手好閒，甚麼工也不作，反倒專管閒事。

你們自己本來就知道應當怎樣效法我們，因為我們在你們中間並沒有游手好閒，

就是當你們奉我們主耶穌的名聚集在一起，我的靈在那裡，我們主耶穌的權能也同在的時候，

弟兄們，我們勸你們，要警戒游手好閒的人，勉勵灰心喪志的人，扶助軟弱無力的人，也要容忍所有的人。

所以弟兄們，你們要站立得穩；你們所領受的教訓，無論是我們口傳的，或是信上寫的，都要持守。

凡你們所作的，無論是言語或行為，都要奉主耶穌的名，藉著他感謝父神。

弟兄們，我勸你們要提防那些離間你們、絆倒你們、使你們違反你們所學的教義的人。你們也要避開他們，

此外，弟兄們，我們在主耶穌裡求你們，勸你們，你們既然接受了我們的教訓，知道應該怎樣行事為人，並且怎樣討神喜悅，就要照你們現在所行的更進一步。

你們饒恕誰，我也饒恕誰；我所饒恕了的（如果我饒恕過甚麼），是為了你們在基督面前饒恕的，

有敬虔的形式，卻否定敬虔的能力；這些人你應當避開。

我在神面前，並且在那將要審判活人死人的基督耶穌面前，憑著他的顯現和國度叮囑你：

你們要小心，免得有人失去了神的恩典；免得有苦根長起來纏繞你們，因而污染了許多人；又免得有人成為淫亂的和貪戀世俗的，好像以掃一樣，為了一點點食物，竟把自己長子的名分出賣了。

又要立志過安靜的生活，辦自己的事，親手作工，正如我們從前吩咐過你們，

如果有人不聽從我們這封信上的訓勉，要把這個人記下來，不可和他來往，好叫他自己覺得慚愧。但不要把他看作仇敵，卻要勸他好像勸弟兄一樣。

如果他再不聽，就告訴教會；如果連教會他也不聽，就把他看作教外人和稅吏吧。

但現在我寫信告訴你們，如果有稱為弟兄，卻是行淫亂、貪心、拜偶像、辱罵人、醉酒或勒索的，這樣的人，不可和他來往，連和他吃飯都不可。審判教外的人，跟我有甚麼關係？教內的人不是你們審判的嗎？至於教外的人，神會審判他們。你們要把那惡人從你們中間趕出去。

所以，我要這樣說，並且要在主裡肯定地說：你們行事為人不要再像教外人，存著虛妄的意念。

我稱讚你們，因為你們在一切事上都記念我，又持守我傳交給你們的教訓。

我在賜生命給萬物的神面前，並那在本丟．彼拉多面前見證過美好的信仰的基督耶穌面前囑咐你，你當毫無玷污，無可指摘地持守這命令，直到我們主耶穌基督的顯現。

我在神和基督耶穌以及蒙揀選的天使面前叮囑你，要毫無成見地持守這些話，行事也不要偏心。

就和那些心術敗壞，喪失真理的人不斷地爭吵。他們視敬虔為得利的門路。
