We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

蓋凡予所有、皆父所有、凡父所有、皆予所有。且予亦已因若輩而見榮矣。

爾等若果因基督之名而受唾罵、福莫大焉！蓋誠能如此、則光榮大能之聖神、天主之聖神、以爾為安宅矣。

蓋天主之神性、實全寓於基督之身。彼乃一切爵品權品天神之元首也。爾等惟體基督乃臻充實之美。

赫赫令譽。與日偕存。悠悠人世。賴以蒙恩。萬邦作頌。百祿萃身。

然此乃所以鍛鍊爾之信德、而於耶穌基督顯現之日、玉成爾之光榮及天爵耳。夫黃金乃必朽之物、尚且以火煉之；而信德固貴於黃金也。夫耶穌基督、爾等未之見也而已衷心慕之；雖無所睹而能毅然信之。故爾等歡樂難言、寵榮被身、

予每思天主因耶穌基督而沛賜爾等以聖寵、未嘗不為爾等向天主代謝洪恩。

用特致書於天主所眷、而蒙召成聖之羅馬同人曰：伏願吾父天主、及吾主耶穌基督、降爾聖寵、錫爾平安。

吾主耶穌基督之慷慨、固爾等之所知也。彼乃萬有之主也、顧為爾等之故、甘成貧窮、俾爾等因彼之貧窮、而成富有。

而與之合為一體。蓋予自身了無仁義、律法亦不足為恃、惟天主為仁義之泉源、而所以致之者、則惟信仰基督而已矣。

願彼眾能翕然合而為一；正如吾父體予、予體吾父、願彼眾亦能仰體吾儕、而融為一體、庶幾世人信父實曾遣予。父所賜予之榮、予亦已賜之彼眾、欲使彼眾成為一體、亦如予與父之為一體；予體彼、而父體予、務使彼眾精誠團結、化成一體、庶幾世人知父確曾遣予、且知父愛吾徒、一如愛予。父乎！願父所賜於予之人、皆得詣予所在、而親睹父所賜予之榮、蓋自創世之前、父已愛予矣。公義之父乎！世不識父、予則識父、而斯輩亦識父之遣予也。父之聖名、予已示之、今後復將示之、使父之所以愛予之愛、得存留於彼等、而予亦得恆寓於彼等焉。』

因是天主亦舉之於萬有之上、鍚以聖名、舉世無匹、萬古流芳、使天上人間乃至地下一切生靈、莫不聞其名而屈膝、眾口同聲、咸稱耶穌基督為主、而歸榮於天主聖父焉。

蓋彼雖一度憑其柔德、而被釘以死、今則憑天主大能而生矣。吾人茲亦秉其柔德、惟對於爾曹、吾儕亦當憑天主大德、而與基督共生也。
