And David said,“ Is there still anyone left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?”

David asked,“ Is there anyone still left of the house of Saul to whom I can show kindness for Jonathan’s sake?”

David asked,“ Is anyone left from the royal house of Saul? If there is, I want to be kind to him because of Jonathan.”

One day David asked,“ Is anyone in Saul’s family still alive— anyone to whom I can show kindness for Jonathan’s sake?”

David asked,“ Is there anyone remaining from the family of Saul I can show kindness to for Jonathan’s sake?”

Then David said,“ Is there anyone still left of the house of Saul, so that I could show him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?”

Now David said,“ Is there still anyone who is left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?”

And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?

David asked,“ Is there anyone remaining from Saul’s family I can show kindness to because of Jonathan?”

And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may shew him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?

Then David asked,“ Is anyone still left from the family of Saul, so that I may extend kindness to him for the sake of Jonathan?”

David said,“ Is there yet any who is left of Saul’s house, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?”

Then Jonathan said to David,“ Go in peace, because we have sworn both of us in the name of the Lord, saying,‘ The Lord shall be between me and you, and between my offspring and your offspring, forever.’” And he rose and departed, and Jonathan went into the city.

And the King will answer them,‘ Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’

If I am still alive, show me the steadfast love of the Lord, that I may not die;and do not cut off your steadfast love from my house forever, when the Lord cuts off every one of the enemies of David from the face of the earth.”And Jonathan made a covenant with the house of David, saying,“ May the Lord take vengeance on David’s enemies.”And Jonathan made David swear again by his love for him, for he loved him as he loved his own soul.

For truly, I say to you, whoever gives you a cup of water to drink because you belong to Christ will by no means lose his reward.

When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother,“ Woman, behold, your son!”Then he said to the disciple,“ Behold, your mother!” And from that hour the disciple took her to his own home.

And Jonathan, Saul’s son, rose and went to David at Horesh, and strengthened his hand in God.And he said to him,“ Do not fear, for the hand of Saul my father shall not find you. You shall be king over Israel, and I shall be next to you. Saul my father also knows this.”And the two of them made a covenant before the Lord. David remained at Horesh, and Jonathan went home.

yet for love’s sake I prefer to appeal to you— I, Paul, an old man and now a prisoner also for Christ Jesus—I appeal to you for my child, Onesimus, whose father I became in my imprisonment.( Formerly he was useless to you, but now he is indeed useful to you and to me.)I am sending him back to you, sending my very heart.

I am distressed for you, my brother Jonathan; very pleasant have you been to me; your love to me was extraordinary, surpassing the love of women.

But deal loyally with the sons of Barzillai the Gileadite, and let them be among those who eat at your table, for with such loyalty they met me when I fled from Absalom your brother.

And whoever gives one of these little ones even a cup of cold water because he is a disciple, truly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward.”

Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind.

Do not forsake your friend and your father’s friend, and do not go to your brother’s house in the day of your calamity. Better is a neighbor who is near than a brother who is far away.

As soon as he had finished speaking to Saul, the soul of Jonathan was knit to the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.And Saul took him that day and would not let him return to his father’s house.Then Jonathan made a covenant with David, because he loved him as his own soul.And Jonathan stripped himself of the robe that was on him and gave it to David, and his armor, and even his sword and his bow and his belt.
