He put garrisons in the Aramean kingdom of Damascus, and the Arameans became subject to him and brought tribute. The Lord gave David victory wherever he went.

He stationed some soldiers in the Aramean kingdom of Damascus. The people of Aram were brought under his rule. They gave him the gifts he required them to bring him. The Lord helped David win his battles everywhere he went.

教我手善戰、使我臂挽銅弓兮、爾賜我拯救之盾、且以右手扶我、爾之溫和、俾我為大兮、使我步履寬裕、我足未嘗滑跌兮、我將追敵及之、未行殄滅、不旋歸兮、我擊傷之、使之不振、仆我足下兮、蓋爾以力束我、使備戰爭、起而攻我者、俾服於我兮、使我諸敵背我而馳、致我翦滅憾我者兮、彼呼號而無援、籲耶和華亦弗應兮、我則搗之若風飄之塵、棄之若街衢之泥兮、爾援我於庶民之競爭、立我為列邦之元首、我所不識之民、必服役我兮、彼聞我名、立即歸順、外族之人服從兮、外族衰落、出其衛所、戰慄而來兮、耶和華維生兮、我之磐石、宜頌美兮、救我之上帝、當尊崇兮、

大衛置戍於以東、以東人遂服役於大衛、大衛無論何往、耶和華使之獲勝、○

備馬待戰、惟獲勝在於耶和華、

駐兵於猶大之堅城、置戍於猶大地、及其父亞撒所得以法蓮之邑、

主耶和華、我拯救之力歟、在昔戰鬥之日、爾蔽我首兮、

又擊摩押、使其人伏地、以繩量度、殺戮者二繩之長、生存者一繩有奇、摩押人遂服役於大衛、而納貢焉、
