I will be his father, and he will be my son. When he does wrong, I will punish him with a rod wielded by men, with floggings inflicted by human hands.

上帝曾对哪一个天使说过：“你是我的儿子；我今日生了你”？又说过：“我要作他的父；他要作我的子”呢？

耶和华对我说：‘你儿子所罗门必建造我的殿和院宇，因为我拣选他作我的子，我也必作他的父。

凡我所疼爱的，我就责备管教。所以，你要发热心，也要悔改。

我们受审判的时候，就是被主管教，这样就免得和世人一同被定罪。

我要作他的父，他要作我的子；我必不使我的慈爱离开他，像离开在你以前的那位一样。

我寻得我的仆人大卫，用我的圣膏膏他。我的手必使他坚立，我的膀臂也必坚固他。仇敌必不勒索他，凶恶之子也不苦害他。我要在他面前打碎他的敌人，击杀那些恨他的人。我的信实和我的慈爱要与他同在；因我的名，他的角必被高举。我要使他的手伸到海上，右手伸到河上。他要称呼我说：‘你是我的父，是我的上帝，是拯救我的磐石。’我也要立他为长子，为世上最高的君王。我要为他存留我的慈爱，直到永远，我与他所立的约必坚定不移。我也要使他的后裔存到永远，使他的宝座如天之久。“倘若他的子孙离弃我的律法，不照我的典章行，背弃我的律例，不遵守我的诫命，我就要用杖责罚他们的过犯，用鞭责罚他们的罪孽。只是我不将我的慈爱全然收回，也不叫我的信实废除。我必不毁损我的约，也不改变我口中所出的话。我仅此一次指着自己的神圣起誓，我绝不向大卫说谎！他的后裔要存到永远，他的宝座在我面前如太阳，又如月亮永远坚立；天上的见证是确实的。”（细拉）

你心里要知道，耶和华—你的上帝管教你，像人管教儿女一样。

因我与你同在，要拯救你，也要将那些国灭绝净尽，就是我赶你去的那些国；却不将你灭绝净尽，倒要从宽惩治你，但绝不能不罚你。这是耶和华说的。

你们又忘了上帝劝你们如同劝儿女的那些话，说：“我儿啊，不可轻看主的管教，被他责备的时候不可灰心；因为主所爱的，他必管教，又鞭打他所接纳的每一个孩子。”为了受管教，你们要忍受。上帝待你们如同待儿女。哪有儿女不被父亲管教的呢？管教原是众儿女共同所领受的；你们若不受管教，就是私生子，不是儿女了。再者，我们曾有肉身之父管教我们，我们尚且敬重他，何况灵性之父，我们岂不更当顺服他而得生命吗？肉身之父都是短时间随己意管教我们，惟有灵性之父管教我们是要我们得益处，使我们在他的圣洁上有份。凡管教的事，当时不觉得快乐，反觉得痛苦；后来却为那经过锻炼的人结出平安的果子，就是义的果子。

“看哪，上帝所惩治的人是有福的！所以你不可轻看全能者的管教。

这时，天上有声音说：“这是我的爱子，我所喜爱的。”

耶和华啊，你所管教、用律法教导的人有福了！你使他在遭难的日子仍得平安，直到为恶人挖好了坑。

我儿啊，不可轻看耶和华的管教，也不可厌烦他的责备，因为耶和华所爱的，他必责备，正如父亲责备所喜爱的儿子。
