The angel reached his hand out to destroy Jerusalem. But the Lord stopped sending the plague. So he spoke to the angel who was making the people suffer. He said,“ That is enough! Do not kill any more people.” The angel of the Lord was at Araunah’s threshing floor. Araunah was from the city of Jebus.

And when the angel stretched out his hand toward Jerusalem to destroy it, the Lord relented from the calamity and said to the angel who was working destruction among the people,“ It is enough; now stay your hand.” And the angel of the Lord was by the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite.

你们要撕心般地悔改，而不是撕裂衣服。归向你们的上帝耶和华吧，因为祂有恩典和怜悯，不轻易发怒，有无限的慈爱，不忍心降灾祸。谁知道呢？或许祂转念心生怜悯，给你们留下祝福，使你们可以再次向你们的上帝耶和华献上素祭和奠祭。

就后悔在地上造了人，心里伤痛，

因为耶和华要巡行各地，击杀埃及人，祂看见你们的门框和门楣上有血，就必越过你们的家门，不让灭命者进你们家杀人。

“我后悔立扫罗为王，因为他离弃了我，不遵守我的命令。”撒母耳很难过，整夜呼求耶和华。

希律没有把荣耀归给上帝，主的天使立刻惩罚他，他当场被虫子咬死了。

当晚，耶和华的天使到亚述营中杀了十八万五千人。人们清早起来，发现到处是尸体。

耶和华就差遣一个天使进入亚述王营中，毁灭了所有的勇士、官长和将领。西拿基立只好满脸羞愧地返回自己的国家。趁他去他神明的庙里时，他的几个亲生儿子用刀杀了他。

所罗门在耶路撒冷的摩利亚山上动工兴建耶和华的殿，殿址在耶布斯人阿珥楠的麦场，就是大卫指定的地方。耶和华曾在那里向他父亲大卫显现。

涂在你们房屋上的血是一个记号，我见到这血就会越过你们。我击打埃及的时候，那灾祸不会落到你们身上。

耶和华啊，我还要苦候多久呢？求你怜悯你的仆人。

因为耶和华必为祂的子民申冤，怜悯祂的仆人。

这样的人受了众人的谴责也就够了。

愿他们的道路漆黑泥泞，有耶和华的天使在后追赶！

他的后代还有耶布斯人、亚摩利人、革迦撒人、

自己在旷野走了一天的路程，来到一棵罗腾树下，坐下来祷告求死，说：“耶和华啊，我受够了，求你取走我的性命吧，我不比我的祖先强。”

犹大人没能把住在耶路撒冷的耶布斯人赶出去，他们至今仍然跟犹大人一同居住。

我不会永远指责，也不会一直发怒，以免世人——我所造的生灵昏倒。

那天，大卫下令军队从地下水道爬进城去，攻打那些“瞎子、瘸子”，他憎恶这些耶布斯人。后来便有一句俗语：“瞎子、瘸子不得进殿！”

你们的上帝说：“你们要安慰我的子民。要温柔地告诉耶路撒冷，她的苦难已经结束，她的罪恶已经被除去。她因自己的一切罪已受到耶和华加倍的惩罚。”

祂与以色列人为敌，使他们被掳，驱逐他们离开本地，用从东方刮来的暴风吹散他们。

于是，耶和华心生怜悯，说：“我也不降这灾了。”

便雅悯人没有赶走居住在耶路撒冷的耶布斯人，耶布斯人至今仍和他们住在一起。

但上帝充满怜悯，赦免了他们的罪，没有毁灭他们。祂多次收住怒气，没有完全发出祂的烈怒。

他们临近耶布斯时，天快黑了，仆人对主人说：“我们不如就在耶布斯人的城里住宿吧。”

上帝差遣天使去毁灭耶路撒冷。天使正要毁灭的时候，耶和华见了就心生怜悯，对施行毁灭的天使说：“够了，住手吧！”当时，耶和华的天使正站在耶布斯人阿珥楠的麦场上。大卫举目看见耶和华的天使站在天地之间，手握着已出鞘的刀，指向耶路撒冷。大卫和众长老都身披麻衣，脸伏于地。

祂第三次祷告回来后，对他们说：“你们还在睡觉休息吗？够了，时候到了，看啊，人子要被出卖、交在罪人的手里了。

请你们向耶和华祷告，好止住雷电和冰雹。我准许以色列人出去，你们不必再留在这里了。”

我必除去他们口中带血的肉和齿间的可憎之物。余下的人必归属我，成为犹大的一族，以革伦人必像耶布斯人一样归属我。

于是，耶和华心生怜悯，说：“我不降这灾了。”

当我宣布要铲除、推翻、毁灭哪一邦或哪一国的时候，如果他们悔过自新，我必施怜悯，取消我原本要降给他们的灾祸。当我宣布要建造、栽培哪一邦或哪一国的时候，如果他们做我视为恶的事，不听从我的话，我必改变心意，取消我原本要赐给他们的福气。

就在那天，迦得来见大卫，对他说：“你要去耶布斯人亚劳拿的麦场，在那里为耶和华筑一座坛。”

耶和华啊，我听过你的威名；耶和华啊，我对你的作为充满敬畏。求你如今再次彰显你的作为，求你发怒的时候仍以怜悯为念。

耶和华听了摩西的话，就心生怜悯，不把所说的灾祸降在百姓身上。
