And after this it came to pass, that David smote the Philistines, and subdued them: and David took the bridle of the mother city out of the hand of the Philistines.And he smote Moab, and measured them with the line, making them to lie down on the ground; and he measured two lines to put to death, and one full line to keep alive. And Jehovah gave victory to David whithersoever he went.And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.And from Betah and from Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, king David took exceeding much brass.And when Toi king of Hamath heard that David had smitten all the host of Hadadezer,then Toi sent Joram his son unto king David, to salute him, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer and smitten him: for Hadadezer had wars with Toi. And Joram brought with him vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and vessels of brass:These also did king David dedicate unto Jehovah, with the silver and gold that he dedicated of all the nations which he subdued;of Syria, and of Moab, and of the children of Ammon, and of the Philistines, and of Amalek, and of the spoil of Hadadezer, son of Rehob, king of Zobah.And David gat him a name when he returned from smiting the Syrians in the Valley of Salt, even eighteen thousand men.And he put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom put he garrisons, and all the Edomites became servants to David. And Jehovah gave victory to David whithersoever he went.

Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not; and a nation that knew not thee shall run unto thee, because of Jehovah thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he hath glorified thee.

Now there was long war between the house of Saul and the house of David: and David waxed stronger and stronger, but the house of Saul waxed weaker and weaker.

So the people went out into the field against Israel: and the battle was in the forest of Ephraim.And the people of Israel were smitten there before the servants of David, and there was a great slaughter there that day of twenty thousand men.For the battle was there spread over the face of all the country; and the forest devoured more people that day than the sword devoured.

The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew, hanging him on a tree.Him did God exalt with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, to give repentance to Israel, and remission of sins.

who by the Holy Spirit, by the mouth of our father David thy servant, didst say, Why did the Gentiles rage, And the peoples imagine vain things?The kings of the earth set themselves in array, And the rulers were gathered together, Against the Lord, and against his Anointed:for of a truth in this city against thy holy Servant Jesus, whom thou didst anoint, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, were gathered together,to do whatsoever thy hand and thy council foreordained to come to pass.

Ask of me, and I will give thee the nations for thine inheritance, And the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.

Then came all the tribes of Israel to David unto Hebron, and spake, saying, Behold, we are thy bone and thy flesh.

And the seventh angel sounded; and there followed great voices in heaven, and they said, The kingdom of the world is become the kingdom of our Lord, and of his Christ: and he shall reign for ever and ever.

For that nation and kingdom that will not serve thee shall perish; yea, those nations shall be utterly wasted.

And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all the peoples, nations, and languages should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

And again, Isaiah saith, There shall be the root of Jesse, And he that ariseth to rule over the Gentiles; On him shall the Gentiles hope.

And there happened to be there a base fellow, whose name was Sheba, the son of Bichri, a Benjamite: and he blew the trumpet, and said, We have no portion in David, neither have we inheritance in the son of Jesse: every man to his tents, O Israel.So all the men of Israel went up from following David, and followed Sheba the son of Bichri; but the men of Judah clave unto their king, from the Jordan even to Jerusalem.

He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, And from the River unto the ends of the earth.They that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him; And his enemies shall lick the dust.

Moab is my washpot; Upon Edom will I cast my shoe: Philistia, shout thou because of me.Who will bring me into the strong city? Who hath led me unto Edom?

I am inquired of by them that asked not for me; I am found of them that sought me not: I said, Behold me, behold me, unto a nation that was not called by my name.

He will judge among the nations, He will fill the places with dead bodies; He will strike through the head in many countries.

As he saith also in Hosea, I will call that my people, which was not my people; And her beloved, that was not beloved.
