So all the men of Israel deserted David and followed Sheba son of Bicri. But the men of Judah stuck by their king all the way from the Jordan River to Jerusalem.

於是以色列族不從大闢、群從示巴。惟猶大人恆從大闢、自約但擁護至耶路撒冷、

於是以色列人皆離大衛、從比基利子示巴、惟猶大人不離其王、自約但至耶路撒冷、

So all the men of Israel deserted David to follow Sheba son of Bikri. But the men of Judah stayed by their king all the way from the Jordan to Jerusalem.

So all the men of Israel deserted David. They followed Sheba, the son of Bikri. But the men of Judah stayed with their king. They remained with him from the Jordan River all the way to Jerusalem.

So all the men of Israel withdrew from David and followed Sheba the son of Bichri. But the men of Judah followed their king steadfastly from the Jordan to Jerusalem.

After this many of his disciples quit following him and did not accompany him any longer.So Jesus said to the twelve,“ You don’t want to go away too, do you?”Simon Peter answered him,“ Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words of eternal life.

So the king returned and came to the Jordan River. Now the people of Judah had come to Gilgal to meet the king and to help him cross the Jordan.

Starting a quarrel is like letting out water; stop it before strife breaks out!

Men are nothing but a mere breath; human beings are unreliable. When they are weighed in the scales, all of them together are lighter than air.

It is better to take shelter in the LORD than to trust in people.It is better to take shelter in the LORD than to trust in princes.All the nations surrounded me. Indeed, in the name of the LORD I pushed them away.

When the king crossed over to Gilgal, Kimham crossed over with him. Now all the soldiers of Judah along with half of the soldiers of Israel had helped the king cross over.Then all the men of Israel began coming to the king. They asked the king,“ Why did our brothers, the men of Judah, sneak the king away and help the king and his household cross the Jordan– and not only him but all of David’s men as well?”

( Rehoboam continued to rule over the Israelites who lived in the cities of Judah.)
