Now a troublemaker named Sheba son of Bikri, a Benjamite, happened to be there. He sounded the trumpet and shouted,“ We have no share in David, no part in Jesse’s son! Every man to his tent, Israel!”

An evil man who always stirred up trouble happened to be in Gilgal. His name was Sheba, the son of Bikri. Sheba was from the tribe of Benjamin. He blew his trumpet. Then he shouted,“ We don’t have any share in David’s kingdom! Jesse’s son is not our king! Men of Israel, every one of you go back home!”

Now there happened to be there a worthless man, whose name was Sheba, the son of Bichri, a Benjaminite. And he blew the trumpet and said,“ We have no portion in David, and we have no inheritance in the son of Jesse; every man to his tents, O Israel!”

There happened to be a troublemaker there named Sheba son of Bicri, a man from the tribe of Benjamin. Sheba blew a ram’s horn and began to chant:“ Down with the dynasty of David! We have no interest in the son of Jesse. Come on, you men of Israel, back to your homes!”

Now a wicked man, a Benjaminite named Sheba son of Bichri, happened to be there. He blew the ram’s horn and shouted: We have no portion in David, no inheritance in Jesse’s son. Each man to his tent, Israel!

Now a worthless man happened to be there whose name was Sheba, the son of Bichri, a Benjaminite; and he blew the trumpet and said,“ We have no share in David, Nor do we have an inheritance in the son of Jesse; Every man to his tents, Israel!”

And there happened to be there a rebel, whose name was Sheba the son of Bichri, a Benjamite. And he blew a trumpet, and said:“ We have no share in David, Nor do we have inheritance in the son of Jesse; Every man to his tents, O Israel!”

And there happened to be there a base fellow, whose name was Sheba, the son of Bichri, a Benjamite: and he blew the trumpet, and said, We have no portion in David, neither have we inheritance in the son of Jesse: every man to his tents, O Israel.

Now a wicked man, a Benjaminite named Sheba son of Bichri, happened to be there. He blew the ram’s horn and shouted: We have no portion in David, no inheritance in Jesse’s son. Each man to his tent, Israel!

以色列眾人見王不肯聽從他們的請求，就回答王說：“我們在大衛裡面有甚麼分呢？我們在耶西的兒子裡面也沒有產業；以色列人哪，回你們自己的家去吧！大衛啊，照顧你自己的家吧！”於是以色列人都回自己的家去了。

有些匪徒從你中間出來，把本城的居民引離，說：‘我們去事奉別的神吧。’那些神是你們素來不認識的；

以色列人見王不聽他們的要求，就對王說：“我們和大衛有甚麼關係呢？我們和耶西的兒子並不相干。以色列人哪，各回各家去吧，大衛啊，現在只顧你自己的家吧。”於是全體以色列人都回自己的家去了。

羅波安王和一些在他父親所羅門在世的時候，侍立在所羅門面前的老人商議，說：“你們有甚麼提議，我好回覆這班民眾呢？”

耶和華啊！求你起來，迎面攻擊他們，把他們打倒；用你的刀救我的命脫離惡人。

以色列眾人都來見王，問王說：“我們的兄弟猶大人為甚麼把你偷去了，把王和王的家眷接過約旦河呢？屬大衛的人不都一樣是他的人民嗎？”猶大眾人回答以色列人說：“因為王與我們的關係親密。你們為甚麼因這事而生氣呢？我們從王那裡得到甚麼吃的呢？或是他給了我們甚麼禮物呢？”以色列人回答猶大人說：“在王的事上，我們有十分的投入。在大衛身上，我們也與大衛比你們更有情分。你們為甚麼輕視我們呢？先說要請我們的王回來的，不是我們嗎？”但是猶大人的話比以色列人的話更強硬。

掃羅就對侍立在他周圍的臣僕說：“便雅憫人哪，你們要聽！耶西的兒子能把田地和葡萄園賜給你們各人嗎？他能立你們各人作千夫長、作百夫長嗎？你們竟都同謀陷害我。我的兒子與耶西的兒子立盟約的時候，沒有人告訴我；我的兒子挑唆我的臣僕陷害我，就像今天一樣，你們中間也沒有人關心我，告訴我。”

好爭競的人，煽動爭端，就像餘燼上加炭，火上加柴一樣。

不可輕率出去與人爭訟；否則，你的鄰舍若使你受辱，結果你要怎麼辦呢？

流氓卻像荊棘被丟棄，人不敢用手拿它。

耶和華我的神，我的聖者啊！你不是自古就有的嗎？我們不會死的。耶和華啊！你派他們行審判。磐石啊！你立他們施懲罰。你的眼目純潔，不看邪惡，不能坐視奸惡；為甚麼見行詭詐的人而不理？惡人吞滅比自己公義的人，你為甚麼緘默呢？

我兒，你要敬畏耶和華，也要尊敬君王；不要與叛逆的人結交。因為他們的刑罰必忽然臨到；耶和華與君王要施行的毀滅，誰能曉得呢？

義人雖有許多苦難，但耶和華搭救他脫離這一切。

他們心裡正暢快的時候，忽然城裡有些無賴之徒，圍繞房子，不住地敲門，對老房主說：“把進入你家的那個人帶出來，我們要與他交合。”

以利的兩個兒子是無賴，不尊重耶和華，

押沙龍派遣探子到以色列的各支派中，說：“你們一聽見號角的聲音，就說：‘押沙龍在希伯崙作王了！’”

他去到以後，就在以法蓮山地吹角；以色列人與他一同從山地上下來，他走在他們前頭，

他本國的人卻恨他，就派使者跟著去說：‘我們不願意這個人作王統治我們。’

與大衛一起去的那些人中，有些惡人和流氓說：“他們沒有和我們一起去，我們就不把奪回來的戰利品分給他們，只把他們各人的妻子和兒子還給他們，讓他們領回去就是了。”

至於我那些仇敵，就是不願意我作王統治他們的，把他們拉到這裡來，在我面前殺掉！’”
