願他的後人被剪滅；願他的名字第二代就被塗抹。

因為永恆主在那裏使全地的口音混亂，又在那裏使人分散在全地上，故此那城名叫「巴別」。

他們的墳墓永做他們的家，代代做他們的住處：他們以自己的名稱自己的地。

這人用不義的工錢買得了一塊園地，竟翻跟頭仆倒了，肚子爆裂，腸子迸流出來。這是住耶路撒冷的人都知道的；所以那園地按他們自己的土話叫亞革大馬，就是血園地）。

下邊他的根頭枯乾；上邊他的枝條被割下他令人懷念的遺跡都從境內滅沒；他的名字不存留於野外。

永恆主這麼說：『要把這個人登記為無子嗣位的，是儘他一生日子都不亨通順利的，因為他後裔中無一人亨通順利能坐大衛寶座，或再統治猶大的。』
