When David had gone a short distance beyond the summit, there was Ziba, the steward of Mephibosheth, waiting to meet him. He had a string of donkeys saddled and loaded with two hundred loaves of bread, a hundred cakes of raisins, a hundred cakes of figs and a skin of wine.

David went just beyond the top of the Mount of Olives. Ziba was waiting there to meet him. He was Mephibosheth’s manager. He had several donkeys with saddles on them. They were carrying 200 loaves of bread and 100 raisin cakes. They were also carrying 100 fig cakes and a bottle of wine. The bottle was made out of animal skin.

When David had passed a little beyond the summit, Ziba the servant of Mephibosheth met him, with a couple of donkeys saddled, bearing two hundred loaves of bread, a hundred bunches of raisins, a hundred of summer fruits, and a skin of wine.

When David had gone a little beyond the summit of the Mount of Olives, Ziba, the servant of Mephibosheth, was waiting there for him. He had two donkeys loaded with 200 loaves of bread, 100 clusters of raisins, 100 bunches of summer fruit, and a wineskin full of wine.

大衛來到山頂敬拜神的地方，看哪，亞基人戶篩衣服撕裂、頭蒙灰塵來迎接他。

掃羅家有一個僕人，名叫洗巴。人們叫他來見大衛，王問他：「你是洗巴嗎？」他說：「僕人是。」王說：「掃羅家還有人沒有？我要以神的慈愛對待他。」洗巴對王說：「約拿單還有一個雙腿殘疾的兒子。」王問洗巴：「他在哪裡？」洗巴對王說：「看哪，他在羅迪巴，在亞米利的兒子瑪吉家裡。」於是大衛王派人去，把他從羅迪巴，亞米利的兒子瑪吉家接來。掃羅的孫子、約拿單的兒子米非波設來到大衛那裡，臉伏於地下拜。大衛說：「米非波設！」他回答：「僕人在。」大衛對他說：「你不要害怕，我必因你父親約拿單的緣故，以恩慈對待你。我要把你祖父掃羅的所有田地都歸還給你，你要常與我同席吃飯。」米非波設下拜說：「你的僕人算什麼，你竟然眷顧像我這樣一條死狗！」王召來掃羅的僕人洗巴，對他說：「我已經把屬於掃羅和他全家的一切，都給了你主人的孫子。你和你的兒子，以及你的僕人要為他耕耘田地，帶來收成，使你主人的孫子有糧食吃。你主人的孫子米非波設必常與我同席吃飯。」洗巴有十五個兒子，二十個僕人。洗巴對王說：「我主我王所吩咐僕人的一切，僕人必照著去做。」於是米非波設與王同席吃飯，像王的兒子一樣。米非波設有一個小兒子，名叫米迦。洗巴家中的人全都作了米非波設的僕人。米非波設一直住在耶路撒冷，因為他常與王同席吃飯；他的雙腿是瘸的。

王藉著公正，使國堅立；但收受賄賂的，使國傾覆。諂媚鄰人的，是在他的腳前張開網羅。

有一天，耶西對他兒子大衛說：「你現在要給你的哥哥們帶去這二十二公升烤好的麥子和這十個餅，趕快去營地你哥哥們那裡；同時也給千夫長帶上這十塊奶酪。你要看看你哥哥們是否平安，帶回來一個他們的信物。

大衛來到瑪哈念的時候，拉巴的亞捫人納哈什的兒子朔比，還有羅迪巴人亞米利的兒子瑪吉，羅格琳的基列人巴爾兹萊，帶來了寢具、缽、瓦器，還帶來小麥、大麥、麵粉、烤麥、豆子、紅豆、烤豆、蜂蜜、奶油、羊肉和牛奶酪，供大衛和跟隨他的人吃，因為他們說：「人們在曠野裡一定又飢渴，又疲乏。」

耶西就牽來一頭驢，馱上餅和一皮囊酒，又取來一隻小山羊，經由他兒子大衛送給掃羅。

人的禮物為他開路，引導他到大人物面前。

「你從那裡經過再往前走，來到它泊的橡樹，在那裡會遇見三個上伯特利拜見神的人，一個帶著三隻小山羊，一個帶著三塊餅，一個帶著一皮袋酒。

巴爾兹萊很老了，已經八十歲。王住在瑪哈念的時候，他供應了王，因為他是一個非常富有的人。
