And David said unto all his servants that[ were] with him at Jerusalem, Arise, and let us flee; for we shall not[ else] escape from Absalom: make speed to depart, lest he overtake us suddenly, and bring evil upon us, and smite the city with the edge of the sword.

Then David said to all his officials who were with him in Jerusalem,“ Come! We must flee, or none of us will escape from Absalom. We must leave immediately, or he will move quickly to overtake us and bring ruin on us and put the city to the sword.”

Then David spoke to all his officials who were with him in Jerusalem. He said,“ Come on! We have to leave right away! If we don’t, none of us will escape from Absalom. He’ll move quickly to catch up with us. He’ll destroy us. His men will kill everyone in the city with their swords.”

Then David said to all his servants who were with him at Jerusalem,“ Arise, and let us flee, or else there will be no escape for us from Absalom. Go quickly, lest he overtake us quickly and bring down ruin on us and strike the city with the edge of the sword.”

“ Then we must flee at once, or it will be too late!” David urged his men.“ Hurry! If we get out of the city before Absalom arrives, both we and the city of Jerusalem will be spared from disaster.”

David said to all the servants with him in Jerusalem,“ Get up. We have to flee, or we will not escape from Absalom! Leave quickly, or he will overtake us quickly, heap disaster on us, and strike the city with the edge of the sword.”

So David said to all his servants who were with him in Jerusalem,“ Arise and let’s flee, for otherwise none of us will escape from Absalom. Go quickly, or he will hurry and overtake us, and bring disaster on us and strike the city with the edge of the sword.”

So David said to all his servants who were with him at Jerusalem,“ Arise, and let us flee, or we shall not escape from Absalom. Make haste to depart, lest he overtake us suddenly and bring disaster upon us, and strike the city with the edge of the sword.”

And all the people were at strife throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying, The king saved us out of the hand of our enemies, and he delivered us out of the hand of the Philistines; and now he is fled out of the land for Absalom.

And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

Moreover the prince shall not take of the people’s inheritance by oppression, to thrust them out of their possession;[ but] he shall give his sons inheritance out of his own possession: that my people be not scattered every man from his possession.

Because of the voice of the enemy, because of the oppression of the wicked: for they cast iniquity upon me, and in wrath they hate me.My heart is sore pained within me: and the terrors of death are fallen upon me.Fearfulness and trembling are come upon me, and horror hath overwhelmed me.And I said, Oh that I had wings like a dove![ for then] would I fly away, and be at rest.Lo,[ then] would I wander far off,[ and] remain in the wilderness. Selah.I would hasten my escape from the windy storm[ and] tempest.Destroy, O Lord,[ and] divide their tongues: for I have seen violence and strife in the city.Day and night they go about it upon the walls thereof: mischief also and sorrow[ are] in the midst of it.Wickedness[ is] in the midst thereof: deceit and guile depart not from her streets.

And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted to heaven, shalt be thrust down to hell.

Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will raise up evil against thee out of thine own house, and I will take thy wives before thine eyes, and give[ them] unto thy neighbour, and he shall lie with thy wives in the sight of this sun.

And the three mighty men brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that[ was] by the gate, and took[ it], and brought[ it] to David: nevertheless he would not drink thereof, but poured it out unto the LORD.And he said, Be it far from me, O LORD, that I should do this:[ is not this] the blood of the men that went in jeopardy of their lives? therefore he would not drink it. These things did these three mighty men.

LORD, how are they increased that trouble me! many[ are] they that rise up against me.Many[ there be] which say of my soul,[ There is] no help for him in God. Selah.But thou, O LORD,[ art] a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me.I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set[ themselves] against me round about.Arise, O LORD; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies[ upon] the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.Salvation[ belongeth] unto the LORD: thy blessing[ is] upon thy people. Selah.

If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget[ her cunning].If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy.

Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem.
