A messenger came and told David,“ The hearts of the people of Israel are with Absalom.”

A messenger came and spoke to David. He told him,“ The hearts of the Israelites are turned toward Absalom.”

And a messenger came to David, saying,“ The hearts of the men of Israel have gone after Absalom.”

A messenger soon arrived in Jerusalem to tell David,“ All Israel has joined Absalom in a conspiracy against you!”

Then an informer came to David and reported,“ The hearts of the men of Israel are with Absalom.”

Then a messenger came to David, saying,“ The hearts of the people of Israel are with Absalom.”

Now a messenger came to David, saying,“ The hearts of the men of Israel are with Absalom.”

And there came a messenger to David, saying, The hearts of the men of Israel are after Absalom.

Then an informer came to David and reported,“ The hearts of the men of Israel are with Absalom.”

His mother’s relatives spoke on his behalf to all the leaders of Shechem and reported his proposal. The leaders were drawn to Abimelech; they said,“ He is our close relative.”

Absalom acted this way toward everyone in Israel who came to the king for justice. In this way Absalom won the loyalty of the citizens of Israel.

Pilate said to them,“ Then what should I do with Jesus who is called the Christ?” They all said,“ Crucify him!”

All the people noticed this and it pleased them. In fact, everything the king did pleased all the people.

The crowds that went ahead of him and those following kept shouting,“ Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”

Men are nothing but a mere breath; human beings are unreliable. When they are weighed in the scales, all of them together are lighter than air.
