我們一生的日子，是七十歲，如果強壯，可到八十歲；但其中可誇耀的，不過是勞苦愁煩，轉瞬即逝，我們就如飛而去。

於是彼得就開口說：「我現在真的了解神是不偏待人的，

大衛就對使者說：「你要對約押如此說：『不要為這件事難過，因為刀劍有時吞噬這個，有時吞噬那個。你只要竭力攻擊那城，把它摧毀！』你要這樣鼓勵約押。」

因為世人的命運和獸的命運都一樣：這個會死，那個也一樣會死，他們都有一樣的氣息，人不比獸優越。這全是虛空！他們都同歸一處，都出於塵土，也都歸於塵土。

他們派了自己的門徒們與希律黨的人一同去見耶穌，說：「老師，我們知道你是真誠的，並且按真理教導神的道。你不顧忌任何人，因為你不看人的情面。

你們既然稱不偏待人、只按每個人的行為施行審判的那一位為父，就應當懷著敬畏的心，過你們寄居的日子，
