The king replied,“ No, my son. If we all came, we would be too much of a burden on you.” Absalom pressed him, but the king would not come, though he gave Absalom his blessing.

“ No, my son,” the king replied.“ All of us should not go; we would only be a burden to you.” Although Absalom urged him, he still refused to go but gave him his blessing.

but they begged him,“ Stay the night with us, since it is getting late.” So he went home with them.

Joab bowed with his face to the ground in deep respect and said,“ At last I know that I have gained your approval, my lord the king, for you have granted me this request!”

She and her household were baptized, and she asked us to be her guests.“ If you agree that I am a true believer in the Lord,” she said,“ come and stay at my home.” And she urged us until we agreed.

So his master said,‘ Go out into the country lanes and behind the hedges and urge anyone you find to come, so that the house will be full.

While she was there, Boaz arrived from Bethlehem and greeted the harvesters.“ The Lord be with you!” he said.“ The Lord bless you!” the harvesters replied.

The man got up to leave, but his father in law kept urging him to stay, so he finally gave in and stayed the night.On the morning of the fifth day he was up early again, ready to leave, and again the woman’s father said,“ Have something to eat; then you can leave later this afternoon.” So they had another day of feasting.Later, as the man and his concubine and servant were preparing to leave, his father in law said,“ Look, it’s almost evening. Stay the night and enjoy yourself. Tomorrow you can get up early and be on your way.”But this time the man was determined to leave. So he took his two saddled donkeys and his concubine and headed in the direction of Jebus( that is, Jerusalem).

“ My lords,” he said,“ come to my home to wash your feet, and be my guests for the night. You may then get up early in the morning and be on your way again.”“ Oh no,” they replied.“ We’ll just spend the night out here in the city square.”But Lot insisted, so at last they went home with him. Lot prepared a feast for them, complete with fresh bread made without yeast, and they ate.
