On the third day a man arrived from Saul’s camp with his clothes torn and dust on his head. When he came to David, he fell to the ground to pay him honor.

當天有一個便雅憫人逃出了戰場，他撕爛衣服，頭蒙灰塵，來到示羅。

在洗革拉曾有人向我報信說掃羅死了，他以為是來報喜訊，我抓住他，把他殺了。那就是我給他的報酬。

亞比該看見大衛，連忙下驢俯伏下拜。

約書亞和以色列的長老便撕裂衣服，把灰撒在頭上，俯伏在耶和華的約櫃面前，直到晚上。

「你去召集書珊城所有的猶太人為我禁食，三天三夜不吃不喝，我和我的宮女也要這樣禁食。然後，我要違例去見王，我若死就死吧。」

我們在田裡捆莊稼，我捆的莊稼站起來，你們捆的莊稼都圍著我捆的莊稼下拜。」他的哥哥們回答說：「難道你真想做我們的王統治我們嗎？」他們因約瑟的夢和他說的話而更恨他。後來，約瑟又做了一個夢，他又去對哥哥們說：「你們聽聽我做的另一個夢，我夢見太陽、月亮和十一顆星星都向我下拜。」約瑟把夢告訴了父親和哥哥們，他父親就責備他說：「你做的是什麼夢！難道你的父母弟兄都要來向你俯伏下拜嗎？」

大衛來到山頂敬拜上帝的地方，看見亞基人戶篩撕破了衣服，頭蒙灰塵前來迎接他。

看啊！我要使撒旦的同夥，就是那些假冒猶太人的說謊者，在你面前俯伏下拜，讓他們知道你是我所疼愛的。

提哥亞婦人來到王面前，俯伏在地上說：「王啊，求你救救我吧！」

呂便回到井邊發現約瑟不見了，就傷心地撕裂了身上的衣服，

到了第三天，亞伯拉罕遠遠看見那地方，

你們要撕心般地悔改，而不是撕裂衣服。歸向你們的上帝耶和華吧，因為祂有恩典和憐憫，不輕易發怒，有無限的慈愛，不忍心降災禍。

要對上帝說：「你的作為令人敬畏！你的大能使敵人屈膝投降。

第三天，以斯帖身穿朝服進入王宮內院，面對大殿站立，王在殿裡正面朝宮門坐在寶座上。

約拿在大魚腹中三日三夜，人子也要在地裡三日三夜。

少年離開以後，大衛就從磐石南面出來，伏地拜了三拜。二人彼此親吻，抱頭痛哭，大衛更是泣不成聲。

雅各撕裂自己的衣服，束上麻布，為約瑟哀傷了好幾天。

過兩天，祂必復興我們；第三天，祂必使我們站立起來，在祂面前存活。

報信的人對以利說：「我今天是從戰場逃回來的。」以利問：「我的孩子，情況怎麼樣？」

從此以後，耶穌開始清楚地指示門徒，祂必須去耶路撒冷，受長老、祭司長和律法教師許多的迫害，並且被處死，但第三天必從死裡復活。

他們回答說：「你僕人——我們的父親仍然健在、安康。」說完了，又向他下拜。
