They will say,“ What happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again? From before the times of our ancestors, everything has remained the same since the world was first created.”

saying,“ Where is his‘ coming’ that he promised? Ever since our ancestors fell asleep, all things continue as they have been since the beginning of creation.”

Look, they keep saying to me,“ Where is the word of the Lord? Let it come now!”

You have wearied the Lord with your words. Yet you say,“ How have we wearied Him?” In that you say,“ Everyone who does evil is good in the sight of the Lord, and He delights in them,” or,“ Where is the God of justice?”

Because the sentence against an evil deed is not executed quickly, therefore the hearts of the sons of mankind among them are fully given to do evil.

They have lied about the Lord And said,“ Not He; Misfortune will not come upon us, Nor will we see sword or famine.The prophets are as wind, And the word is not in them. So it will be done to them!”

But if that evil slave says in his heart,‘ My master is not coming for a long time,’

Woe to those who drag wrongdoing with the cords of deceit, And sin as if with cart ropes;Who say,“ Let Him hurry, let Him do His work quickly, so that we may see it; And let the plan of the Holy One of Israel approach And come to pass, so that we may know it!”

So Lot went out and spoke to his sons in law, who were to marry his daughters, and said,“ Up, get out of this place, for the Lord is destroying the city.” But he appeared to his sons in law to be joking.

But if that slave says in his heart,‘ My master will take a long time to come,’ and he begins to beat the other slaves, both men and women, and to eat and drink and get drunk;

What has been, it is what will be, And what has been done, it is what will be done. So there is nothing new under the sun.

“ Son of man, what is this proverb you people have about the land of Israel, saying,‘ The days are long, and every vision fails’?Therefore say to them,‘ This is what the Lord God says:“ I will put an end to this proverb so that they will no longer use it as a proverb in Israel.” But tell them,“ The days are approaching as well as the fulfillment of every vision.For there will no longer be any false vision or deceptive divination within the house of Israel.For I the Lord will speak whatever word I speak, and it will be performed. It will no longer be delayed, for in your days, you rebellious house, I will speak the word and perform it,” declares the Lord God.’ ”Furthermore, the word of the Lord came to me, saying,“ Son of man, behold, the house of Israel is saying,‘ The vision that he sees is for many years from now, and he prophesies of times far off.’

For those days will be such a time of tribulation as has not occurred since the beginning of the creation which God created until now, and never will again.

But from the beginning of creation, God created them male and female.

who say,‘ The time is not near to build houses. This city is the pot and we are the meat.’

For who is our hope, or joy or crown of pride, in the presence of our Lord Jesus at His coming? Or is it not indeed you?

“ To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: The Amen, the faithful and true Witness, the Origin of the creation of God, says this:

Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather.
