主知拯虔者於試中、而留不義者於刑下、以待鞫日、

惟主救敬虔之人、免於患難、而留不義者、待鞫日受刑、

惟主知拯救虔敬之人、脫於苦難、而留不義之人、待審判之日受刑、

觀此可見天主固知何以脫善人於危難、而將惡人留待審判之日、以受顯罰。

Since all this is true, then the Lord knows how to save godly people. He knows how to keep them safe in times of testing. The Lord also knows how to keep ungodly people under guard. He will do so until the day they will be judged and punished.

No trial has overtaken you that is not faced by others. And God is faithful: He will not let you be tried beyond what you are able to bear, but with the trial will also provide a way out so that you may be able to endure it.

The LORD pays attention to the godly and hears their cry for help.But the LORD opposes evildoers and wipes out all memory of them from the earth.The godly cry out and the LORD hears; he saves them from all their troubles.The LORD is near the brokenhearted; he delivers those who are discouraged.The godly face many dangers, but the LORD saves them from each one of them.

Because you have kept my admonition to endure steadfastly, I will also keep you from the hour of testing that is about to come on the whole world to test those who live on the earth.

Now in fact all who want to live godly lives in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.

But by the same word the present heavens and earth have been reserved for fire, by being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.

Now Enoch, the seventh in descent beginning with Adam, even prophesied of them, saying,“ Look! The Lord is coming with thousands and thousands of his holy ones,to execute judgment on all, and to convict every person of all their thoroughly ungodly deeds that they have committed, and of all the harsh words that ungodly sinners have spoken against him.”

He gave himself for us to set us free from every kind of lawlessness and to purify for himself a people who are truly his, who are eager to do good.

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be paid back according to what he has done while in the body, whether good or evil.Therefore, because we know the fear of the Lord, we try to persuade people, but we are well known to God, and I hope we are well known to your consciences too.

The LORD works everything for its own ends– even the wicked for the day of disaster.

For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but threw them into hell and locked them up in chains in utter darkness, to be kept until the judgment,

He will deliver you from six calamities; yes, in seven no evil will touch you.

But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath for yourselves in the day of wrath, when God’s righteous judgment is revealed!

Realize that the LORD shows the godly special favor; the LORD responds when I cry out to him.

that the evil man is spared from the day of his misfortune, that he is delivered from the day of God’s wrath?

Deliver, LORD! For the godly have disappeared; people of integrity have vanished.

For this reason every one of your faithful followers should pray to you while there is a window of opportunity. Certainly when the surging water rises, it will not reach them.
