因為這義人住在他們中間，看見又聽見他們的不法行為，他公義的心天天受到折磨——

蓋此義者居其中、且見且聞、以其不法之行、日傷公義之心、

蓋義者與彼同處、見其敗亂矩矱、無日不憂、

蓋此義人居於彼中、目見耳聞其非法之事、傷其義心、

蓋羅德以正直之身、處於群小之中、所見所聞、莫非橫行無道、中心惄焉如擣、無有寧日也。

( for that righteous man, living among them day after day, was tormented in his righteous soul by the lawless deeds he saw and heard)—

That good man lived among them day after day. He saw and heard the evil things they were doing. They were breaking God’s laws. And the godly spirit of Lot was deeply troubled.

Yes, Lot was a righteous man who was tormented in his soul by the wickedness he saw and heard day after day.

( for that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their lawless deeds):

( for as he lived among them, that righteous man tormented himself day by day with the lawless deeds he saw and heard)—

我看見詭詐的人就討厭，因為他們不遵守你的話語。

我的眼淚像河水湧流，因為人都不謹守你的律法。

對他說：“你要走遍耶路撒冷全城，那些因城中所行的一切可憎的事而歎息悲哀的人，你要在他們的額上畫個記號。”

義人在惡人面前屈服，好像混濁了的水泉、污染了的水井。

現在我們稱驕傲的人為有福，作惡的人得建立；他們雖然試探神，卻得以逃脫。’”那時，敬畏耶和華的人彼此談論，耶和華也留意細聽；在他面前有記錄冊，記錄那些敬畏耶和華和思念他名的人。萬軍之耶和華說：“在我施行作為的日子，他們要屬我，作特別的產業；我必憐恤他們，好像人憐恤那服事自己的兒子一樣。

我心中迫切如同火燒，因為我的敵人忘記了你的話。

義人得勝的時候，有極大的榮耀；惡人興起的時候，人就躲避。

你們要從我的聖所開始，把老年人、少年人、少女、孩童和婦女都殺盡滅絕，只是那些額上有記號的人，你們都不可傷害。”於是他們從殿前那些長老開始殺戮。

要知道律法本來不是為義人設立的，而是為那些無法無天和放蕩不羈的、不敬虔和犯罪的、不聖潔和世俗的、弒父母和殺人的、

所以你們應當彼此認罪，互相代求，這樣你們就可以痊愈。義人祈禱所發出的力量，是大有功效的。
