上帝既叫所多瑪蛾摩拉城燒成灰燼，判歸傾覆，立做後來行不虔事之人的借鑑，

又判定所多玛、蛾摩拉，将二城倾覆，焚烧成灰，作为后世不敬虔人的鉴戒；

又索多馬蛾摩拉二邑亦為天主所黜、而付諸一炬、以為後世不肖之炯戒。

if he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes, and made them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly;

God judged the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. He burned them to ashes. He made them an example of what is going to happen to ungodly people.

if by turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to ashes he condemned them to extinction, making them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly;

Later, God condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah and turned them into heaps of ashes. He made them an example of what will happen to ungodly people.

and if he reduced the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to ashes and condemned them to extinction, making them an example of what is coming to the ungodly;

and if He condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to destruction by reducing them to ashes, having made them an example of what is coming for the ungodly;

and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly;

又如所多瑪蛾摩拉以及周圍城市的人，照這些天使的樣子一味行淫，隨從逆性的肉慾，怎樣受着永世之火的處罰，擺在前頭做後人的鑑戒。

又好像在羅得的日子一樣；人喫喝買賣，栽種建造；但羅得從所多瑪出來那一天，上帝從天上下火雨跟硫磺雨，把他們都滅了。在人子顯示出來的日子也必如此。

地敞開了口，把他們和可拉吞下去；當時那一黨的人都死，當時有火燒滅了二百五十個人；他們就做了示眾的標記。

又看見遍地有硫磺、有鹽鹵、有火迹，沒有播種，沒有生產，連草都不長，好像所多瑪、蛾摩拉、押瑪、洗扁傾覆的景象，就是永恆主在怒氣怒火中所傾覆的，

當時永恆主從天上、永恆主那裏、下硫磺雨跟火雨、在所多瑪和蛾摩拉上頭；把這些城、和這一片平原、跟城裏所有的居民、連地上所生的、都覆滅了。

他們所遭遇的這些事都有象徵性；記載下來是要警戒我們、我們這些萬世之終局所達到的人。

就如上帝傾覆所多瑪蛾摩拉與其鄰近城市一樣，永恆主發神諭說，必沒有人住在那裏，也無人寄居於其中。

向所多瑪、蛾摩拉、那一片平原全地眺望觀看，哎呀，那地方的煙氣還往上冒，就像燒窰的煙氣一般。

『我傾覆你們中間的城，如同我傾覆了所多瑪蛾摩拉一樣；你們像一根柴從焚燒中搶救出來；你們仍不回來歸我』：永恆主發神諭說。

故此萬軍之永恆主以色列之上帝發神諭說：『我指着永活的我來起誓：摩押必像所多瑪，亞捫人必像蛾摩拉，都被刺草和鹽坑佔據，荒涼涼到永遠。我剩下的餘民必擄掠他們，我國中餘剩的人必得着他們以為業。

巴比倫、列國中最華美的，迦勒底人所炫耀為最燦爛的，必像上帝之傾覆所多瑪和蛾摩拉一樣。

以法蓮哪，我怎能捨棄你啊！以色列啊，我怎能把你交出啊！我怎能使你如押瑪！使你如洗扁哪！我的心在我裏面翻轉着，我憐愛之情一直熱起來。

看哪，你妹妹所多瑪的罪孽是這樣：她和她的女兒們都狂妄傲慢，食物喫得太飽，大享安逸自得，並沒有扶助困苦貧窮人的手。她們自高自傲，在我面前行可厭惡的事，我看見便將她們除掉。撒瑪利亞所犯的罪還沒有你的一半；你增加了可厭惡之事比她還多，以致你姐妹因你所行一切可厭惡之事倒顯得罪輕。你既判定你姐妹比較罪輕，那麼你，你也就要擔受你自己的羞辱啊；因為你犯的罪比她們的更可厭惡，她們比你更顯得罪輕，那麼你，你也就要擔受你自己的羞辱了。『我必恢復她們的故業，所多瑪和她女兒們的故業，撒瑪利亞和她女兒們的故業；我必恢復她們中間你的故業，好使你擔當你自己的羞辱，並因你一切所行的自覺羞愧，而使她們心平氣靜下來。你妹妹所多瑪和她女兒們必回復她們以前的狀況；撒瑪利亞和她女兒們必回復她們以前的狀況；你和你女兒們也必回復你們以前的狀況。當你狂傲的日子、你妹妹所多瑪在你口中豈不是成了臭名昭彰的麼？

對一切人行審判，將一切不虔者以不虔方式所行一切不虔的事定了罪，又將不虔和犯重大罪的人所說一切頂撞他的剛愎話定了罪。』
