We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

吾儕因是愈益確信先知之言、爾等於此亦宜三致意焉。蓋先知之言、猶黑夜之明燈、所以待旭日之東升、與晨星之興於爾心也。

We also have the prophetic message as something completely reliable, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.

NUN. Thy word[ is] a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David,[ and] the bright and morning star.

The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.

The law of the LORD[ is] perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD[ is] sure, making wise the simple.The statutes of the LORD[ are] right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD[ is] pure, enlightening the eyes.The fear of the LORD[ is] clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD[ are] true[ and] righteous altogether.

If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:

Concerning this salvation, the prophets, who spoke of the grace that was to come to you, searched intently and with the greatest care, (niv)

Who told of this from the beginning, so we could know, or beforehand, so we could say,‘ He was right’? No one told of this, no one foretold it, no one heard any words from you. (niv)

“ Abraham replied,‘ They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.’“‘ No, father Abraham,’ he said,‘ but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’“ He said to him,‘ If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’” (niv)
