When Jehoram saw Jehu, he asked,“ Is everything all right, Jehu?” He replied,“ How can everything be all right as long as your mother Jezebel promotes idolatry and pagan practices?”

約蘭見耶戶、則曰、耶戶歟、安否、曰、爾母耶洗別、淫行巫術若是之多、焉得安乎、

約藍見耶戶、則曰耶戶、爾為平康而至乎。曰、王母耶洗別、狥私欲、拜偶像、從巫覡、若是之多、焉得平康乎。

約蘭見耶戶則曰、耶戶平安否、曰、爾母耶洗別之邪淫巫術、如是之多、焉能平安乎、

When Joram saw Jehu he asked,“ Have you come in peace, Jehu?”“ How can there be peace,” Jehu replied,“ as long as all the idolatry and witchcraft of your mother Jezebel abound?”

When Joram saw Jehu he asked,“ Have you come here in peace, Jehu?”“ Your mother Jezebel worships statues of gods,” Jehu replied.“ She also worships evil powers. The evil things she does have spread everywhere. As long as all of that goes on, how can there be peace?”

And when Joram saw Jehu, he said,“ Is it peace, Jehu?” He answered,“ What peace can there be, so long as the whorings and the sorceries of your mother Jezebel are so many?”

King Joram demanded,“ Do you come in peace, Jehu?” Jehu replied,“ How can there be peace as long as the idolatry and witchcraft of your mother, Jezebel, are all around us?”

When Joram saw Jehu he asked,“ Do you come in peace, Jehu?” He answered,“ What peace can there be as long as there is so much prostitution and sorcery from your mother Jezebel?”

When Joram saw Jehu, he said,“ Is your intention peace, Jehu?” And he answered,“ What‘ peace,’ so long as your mother Jezebel’s acts of prostitution and witchcraft are so many?”

Now it happened, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said,“ Is it peace, Jehu?” So he answered,“ What peace, as long as the harlotries of your mother Jezebel and her witchcraft are so many?”

And it came to pass, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said, Is it peace, Jehu? And he answered, What peace, so long as the whoredoms of thy mother Jezebel and her witchcrafts are so many?

When Joram saw Jehu he asked,“ Do you come in peace, Jehu?” He answered,“ What peace can there be as long as there is so much prostitution and witchcraft from your mother Jezebel?”

And it came to pass, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said,[ Is it] peace, Jehu? And he answered, What peace, so long as the whoredoms of thy mother Jezebel and her witchcrafts[ are so] many?

Ahab son of Omri did more evil in the sight of the LORD than all who were before him.As if following in the sinful footsteps of Jeroboam son of Nebat were not bad enough, he married Jezebel the daughter of King Ethbaal of the Sidonians. Then he worshiped and bowed to Baal.He set up an altar for Baal in the temple of Baal he had built in Samaria.Ahab also made an Asherah pole; he did more to anger the LORD God of Israel than all the kings of Israel who were before him.

Even the light from a lamp will never shine in you again! The voices of the bridegroom and his bride will never be heard in you again. For your merchants were the tycoons of the world, because all the nations were deceived by your magic spells!

but have instead followed in the footsteps of the kings of Israel. You encouraged the people of Judah and the residents of Jerusalem to be unfaithful to the LORD, just as the family of Ahab does in Israel. You also killed your brothers, members of your father’s family, who were better than you.

“ Because you have acted like a wanton prostitute– a seductive mistress who practices sorcery, who enslaves nations by her harlotry, and entices peoples by her sorcery–

For all the nations have fallen from the wine of her immoral passion, and the kings of the earth have committed sexual immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth have gotten rich from the power of her sensual behavior.”

( There had never been anyone like Ahab, who was firmly committed to doing evil in the sight of the LORD, urged on by his wife Jezebel.

She wrote out orders, signed Ahab’s name to them, and sealed them with his seal. She then sent the orders to the leaders and to the nobles who lived in Naboth’s city.This is what she wrote:“ Observe a time of fasting and seat Naboth in front of the people.Also seat two villains opposite him and have them testify,‘ You cursed God and the king.’ Then take him out and stone him to death.”

When Jezebel was killing the LORD’s prophets, Obadiah took one hundred prophets and hid them in two caves in two groups of fifty. He also brought them food and water.)

I am the one who gives them reason to celebrate. Complete prosperity is available both to those who are far away and those who are nearby,” says the LORD,“ and I will heal them.But the wicked are like a surging sea that is unable to be quiet; its waves toss up mud and sand.There will be no prosperity,” says my God,“ for the wicked.”

So the horseman went to meet him and said,“ This is what the king says,‘ Is everything all right?’” Jehu replied,“ None of your business! Follow me.” The watchman reported,“ The messenger reached them, but hasn’t started back.”

Now send out messengers and assemble all Israel before me at Mount Carmel, as well as the 450 prophets of Baal and 400 prophets of Asherah whom Jezebel supports.

But I have this against you: You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, and by her teaching deceives my servants to commit sexual immorality and to eat food sacrificed to idols.I have given her time to repent, but she is not willing to repent of her sexual immorality.Look! I am throwing her onto a bed of violent illness, and those who commit adultery with her into terrible suffering, unless they repent of her deeds.Furthermore, I will strike her followers with a deadly disease, and then all the churches will know that I am the one who searches minds and hearts. I will repay each one of you what your deeds deserve.

Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, including a detailed account of how he killed all the prophets with the sword.Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah with this warning,“ May the gods judge me severely if by this time tomorrow I do not take your life as you did theirs!”

Now the woman was dressed in purple and scarlet clothing, and adorned with gold, precious stones, and pearls. She held in her hand a golden cup filled with detestable things and unclean things from her sexual immorality.On her forehead was written a name, a mystery:“ Babylon the Great, the Mother of prostitutes and of the detestable things of the earth.”
