约兰问他：“耶户，你为平安而来吗？”耶户答道：“国中到处都是你母亲耶洗别的偶像和邪术，怎能平安呢？”

约兰见耶户就说：“耶户啊，平安吗？”耶户说：“你母亲耶洗别的淫行邪术这样多，焉能平安呢？”

约兰见耶户就说：“耶户，平安吗？”耶户说：“你母亲耶洗别的淫行邪术这样多，怎么能平安呢？”

约兰见耶户就说：“耶户，平安吗？”耶户说：“你母亲耶洗别的淫行邪术这样多，怎么能平安呢？”

约兰看见耶户的时候，就说：“耶户，平安吗？”耶户说：“你的母亲耶洗别的淫行和邪术这么多，还有平安吗？”

約蘭見耶戶就說：「耶戶啊，平安嗎？」耶戶說：「你母親耶洗別的淫行邪術這樣多，焉能平安呢？」

約蘭見耶戶就說：「耶戶，平安嗎？」耶戶說：「你母親耶洗別的淫行邪術這樣多，怎麼能平安呢？」

約蘭見耶戶就說：「耶戶，平安嗎？」耶戶說：「你母親耶洗別的淫行邪術這樣多，怎麼能平安呢？」

約蘭看見耶戶的時候，就說：“耶戶，平安嗎？”耶戶說：“你的母親耶洗別的淫行和邪術這麼多，還有平安嗎？”

約蘭一見耶戶、就說：『耶戶啊，平安麼？』耶戶說：『甚麼呀？你母親耶洗別的淫行和邪術這麼多、還有平安麼？』

約蘭見耶戶、則曰、耶戶歟、安否、曰、爾母耶洗別、淫行巫術若是之多、焉得安乎、

約藍見耶戶、則曰耶戶、爾為平康而至乎。曰、王母耶洗別、狥私欲、拜偶像、從巫覡、若是之多、焉得平康乎。

約蘭見耶戶則曰、耶戶平安否、曰、爾母耶洗別之邪淫巫術、如是之多、焉能平安乎、

When Joram saw Jehu he asked,“ Have you come in peace, Jehu?”“ How can there be peace,” Jehu replied,“ as long as all the idolatry and witchcraft of your mother Jezebel abound?”

When Joram saw Jehu he asked,“ Have you come here in peace, Jehu?”“ Your mother Jezebel worships statues of gods,” Jehu replied.“ She also worships evil powers. The evil things she does have spread everywhere. As long as all of that goes on, how can there be peace?”

And when Joram saw Jehu, he said,“ Is it peace, Jehu?” He answered,“ What peace can there be, so long as the whorings and the sorceries of your mother Jezebel are so many?”

King Joram demanded,“ Do you come in peace, Jehu?” Jehu replied,“ How can there be peace as long as the idolatry and witchcraft of your mother, Jezebel, are all around us?”

When Joram saw Jehu he asked,“ Do you come in peace, Jehu?” He answered,“ What peace can there be as long as there is so much prostitution and sorcery from your mother Jezebel?”

When Joram saw Jehu, he said,“ Is your intention peace, Jehu?” And he answered,“ What‘ peace,’ so long as your mother Jezebel’s acts of prostitution and witchcraft are so many?”

Now it happened, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said,“ Is it peace, Jehu?” So he answered,“ What peace, as long as the harlotries of your mother Jezebel and her witchcraft are so many?”

And it came to pass, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said, Is it peace, Jehu? And he answered, What peace, so long as the whoredoms of thy mother Jezebel and her witchcrafts are so many?

When Joram saw Jehu he asked,“ Do you come in peace, Jehu?” He answered,“ What peace can there be as long as there is so much prostitution and witchcraft from your mother Jezebel?”

And it came to pass, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said,[ Is it] peace, Jehu? And he answered, What peace, so long as the whoredoms of thy mother Jezebel and her witchcrafts[ are so] many?

When Jehoram saw Jehu, he asked,“ Is everything all right, Jehu?” He replied,“ How can everything be all right as long as your mother Jezebel promotes idolatry and pagan practices?”

When Joram saw Jehu, he said,“ Is it peace, Jehu?” He answered,“ What peace, so long as the prostitution of your mother Jezebel and her witchcraft abound?”

暗利的儿子亚哈做耶和华视为恶的事，比以前的诸王更坏。他不但步尼八的儿子耶罗波安的后尘，还娶了西顿王叶巴力的女儿耶洗别为妻，供奉、祭拜巴力。他在撒玛利亚为巴力建庙，在庙里为巴力设立祭坛。他还造了亚舍拉神像，所作所为比先前诸王更惹以色列的上帝耶和华发怒。

再也看不到闪耀的灯光了，再也听不见新婚夫妇的欢笑声了。因为你的商人曾经趾高气扬，你的邪术曾经迷惑万国，

而是重蹈以色列诸王的覆辙，与亚哈家一样，引诱犹大人和耶路撒冷的居民与假神苟合，还杀了比你好的兄弟。

这全是因为尼尼微像妖媚的妓女大肆淫乱，惯行邪术，以淫行诱惑列国，靠邪术欺骗各族。

因为列国都被她荒淫的烈酒灌醉了。地上的君王曾经与她通奸，地上的商人也因她穷奢极侈的生活而发了财。”

从来没有人像亚哈那样受妻子耶洗别唆使，一心做耶和华视为恶的事。

于是，耶洗别以亚哈王的名义写信，并盖上王印，送给跟拿伯同居一城的长老和贵族。信上说：“你们要宣告禁食，让拿伯在百姓中坐首位，叫两个无赖坐在他对面控告他咒诅上帝和君王，然后把他拉出去用石头打死。”

使他们开口赞美。愿远近各方的人都得到平安！我要医治他们。这是耶和华说的。然而，恶人就像波涛汹涌、难以平静的大海，海浪中涌出淤泥和污物。”我的上帝说：“他们必得不到平安。”

骑兵出去迎接耶户，对他说：“王问你是否为平安而来。”耶户说：“这与你何干？你跟在我后面。”哨兵禀告说：“骑兵到了那里，却没有回来。”

现在，你快派人去召集所有的以色列人到迦密山来见我，把巴力的四百五十名先知和耶洗别所供养的四百名亚舍拉的先知也带来。”

可是有一件事我要责备你，就是你容许那自称是先知的妇人耶洗别教导我的众奴仆，引诱他们淫乱、吃祭过偶像的食物。我曾给她悔改的机会，她却不肯悔改、离弃自己的淫乱行为，所以我必叫她卧病在床。那些与她有染的人若不悔改，也必遭受极大的苦难。我要击杀她的爪牙，使众教会都知道我洞察人的心思意念，我要照你们各人的行为对待你们。

亚哈把以利亚做的一切事以及他怎样杀掉所有巴力先知的经过，都告诉了耶洗别，耶洗别就派人去告诉以利亚，说：“明天这个时候，我若不使你像那些人一样丧命，愿神明重重地惩罚我。”

那妇人身穿紫色和朱红色的袍子，用黄金、宝石及珍珠装扮自己。她手中拿着金杯，里面盛满了她淫乱的污秽、可憎之物。在她额上还写了一个神秘的名号：“大巴比伦——地上淫妇及可憎事物之母”。
