無論進哪一家，先要說：『願這一家平安。』那裏若有當得平安的人，你們所求的平安就必臨到那家；不然，就歸與你們了。

「人子啊，你要告訴本國的子民說：我使刀劍臨到哪一國，那一國的民從他們中間選立一人為守望的。他見刀劍臨到那地，若吹角警戒眾民，凡聽見角聲不受警戒的，刀劍若來除滅了他，他的罪就必歸到自己的頭上。他聽見角聲，不受警戒，他的罪必歸到自己的身上；他若受警戒，便是救了自己的性命。倘若守望的人見刀劍臨到，不吹角，以致民不受警戒，刀劍來殺了他們中間的一個人，他雖然死在罪孽之中，我卻要向守望的人討他喪命的罪。「人子啊，我照樣立你作以色列家守望的人。所以你要聽我口中的話，替我警戒他們。我對惡人說：『惡人哪，你必要死！』你－以西結若不開口警戒惡人，使他離開所行的道，這惡人必死在罪孽之中，我卻要向你討他喪命的罪。倘若你警戒惡人轉離所行的道，他仍不轉離，他必死在罪孽之中，你卻救自己脫離了罪。」

王又打發一個騎馬的去。這人到了他們那裏，說：「王問說，平安不平安？」耶戶說：「平安不平安與你何干？你轉在我後頭吧！」

耶路撒冷啊，我在你城上設立守望的，他們晝夜必不靜默。呼籲耶和華的，你們不要歇息，

所以我今日向你們證明，你們中間無論何人死亡，罪不在我身上。因為神的旨意，我並沒有一樣避諱不傳給你們的。聖靈立你們作全羣的監督，你們就當為自己謹慎，也為全羣謹慎，牧養神的教會，就是他用自己血所買來的。我知道，我去之後必有兇暴的豺狼進入你們中間，不愛惜羊羣。就是你們中間，也必有人起來說悖謬的話，要引誘門徒跟從他們。所以你們應當警醒，記念我三年之久晝夜不住地流淚、勸戒你們各人。

論度瑪的默示：有人聲從西珥呼問我說：守望的啊，夜裏如何？守望的啊，夜裏如何？守望的說：早晨將到，黑夜也來。你們若要問就可以問，可以回頭再來。

大衛正坐在城甕裏。守望的人上城門樓的頂上，舉目觀看，見有一個人獨自跑來。

大衛把他帶來的食物留在看守物件人的手下，跑到戰場，問他哥哥們安。

於是取了兩輛車和馬，王差人去追尋亞蘭軍，說：「你們去窺探窺探。」

他看守的人是瞎眼的，都沒有知識，都是啞巴狗，不能叫喚；但知做夢，躺臥，貪睡，

押沙龍逃跑了。守望的少年人舉目觀看，見有許多人從山坡的路上來。
