初約藍率以色列族眾、守基列之喇末、攻亞蘭王哈泄、約藍被傷、則歸耶斯烈、而療其疾、寧示孫約沙法子耶戶叛約藍、告從者曰、若愜爾意、毋許人出、以洩此事、為耶斯烈人所知。

如是、寧示孫約沙法子耶戶叛約蘭、先是約蘭與以色列軍眾、緣亞蘭王哈薛之故、在基列之拉末戍守、

So Jehu son of Jehoshaphat, the son of Nimshi, conspired against Joram.( Now Joram and all Israel had been defending Ramoth Gilead against Hazael king of Aram,

Jehu was the son of Jehoshaphat, the son of Nimshi. Jehu made plans against Joram. During that time Joram and Israel’s whole army had been guarding Ramoth Gilead. They had been guarding it against Hazael, the king of Aram.

Thus Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi conspired against Joram.( Now Joram with all Israel had been on guard at Ramoth-gilead against Hazael king of Syria,

So Jehu son of Jehoshaphat, son of Nimshi, led a conspiracy against King Joram.( Now Joram had been with the army at Ramoth gilead, defending Israel against the forces of King Hazael of Aram.

Then Jehu son of Jehoshaphat, son of Nimshi, conspired against Joram. Joram and all Israel had been at Ramoth-gilead on guard against King Hazael of Aram.

So Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi conspired against Joram. Now Joram with all Israel was defending Ramoth gilead against Hazael king of Aram,

Then Jehu son of Jehoshaphat, son of Nimshi, conspired against Joram. Joram and all Israel had been at Ramoth-gilead on guard against Hazael king of Aram.

So Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi conspired against Joram.( Now Joram had kept Ramothgilead, he and all Israel, because of Hazael king of Syria.

Then Jehu son of Jehoshaphat son of Nimshi conspired against Joram. Now Joram had been in Ramoth Gilead with the whole Israelite army, guarding against an invasion by King Hazael of Syria.

So Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi conspired against Joram.( Now Joram was keeping Ramoth Gilead, he and all Israel, because of Hazael king of Syria;

他聯合亞哈的兒子約蘭到基列的拉末與亞蘭王哈薛交戰。約蘭受了傷，

以色列王對臣僕說：「你們都知道基列的拉末是我們的領土，我們豈能坐視不理，不從亞蘭王手中奪回來呢？」

第二天早晨，耶戶出去站在城門口，對眾人說：「你們都沒有罪，是我背叛我主人，把他殺了。可是，是誰殺了這些人呢？

耶戶進城時，耶洗別高聲喊道：「謀殺主人的心利啊，平安嗎？」

亞撒做猶大王第三年，拿答率以色列軍圍攻非利士的基比頓城時，以薩迦支派亞希雅的兒子巴沙叛變，殺了拿答，篡位稱王。

以拉的一半戰車由部下心利掌管。一天，心利趁以拉在得撒宮廷總管亞雜家中喝醉時，

哈薛問：「我主為什麼哭呢？」以利沙說：「因為我知道你會加害以色列人。你會放火燒他們的堡壘，用刀殺戮他們的壯丁，摔死他們的孩童，剖開他們的孕婦。」哈薛說：「你僕人算什麼，不過是一條狗，怎能做這樣的大事呢？」以利沙說：「耶和華告訴我，你要做亞蘭王。」哈薛辭別以利沙回去了。王問他：「以利沙對你說什麼？」他答道：「以利沙告訴我，你一定會痊癒。」第二天，哈薛拿了一床浸透水的被子，蒙在王的臉上，王窒息而死。於是哈薛篡位。

他們聽說心利謀反弑君，就在當天擁立軍中元帥暗利做以色列王。

耶和華藉哈拿尼的兒子耶戶先知譴責巴沙和他全家，是因為他像耶羅波安家一樣做耶和華視為惡的事，惹耶和華發怒，也因為他殺了耶羅波安全家。

烏西雅的兒子約坦執政第二十年，以拉的兒子何細亞謀反，殺了利瑪利的兒子比加，篡位做了以色列王。
