The Lord had caused the soldiers of Aram to hear a noise. It sounded like chariots and horses and a huge army. So the soldiers said to one another,“ Listen! The king of Israel has hired the Hittite and Egyptian kings. He has paid them to attack us!”

For the Lord had made the army of the Syrians hear the sound of chariots and of horses, the sound of a great army, so that they said to one another,“ Behold, the king of Israel has hired against us the kings of the Hittites and the kings of Egypt to come against us.”

你一聽到桑林樹梢上有腳步的聲音，就要趕快行動，因為那時耶和華已經在你前面出去擊殺非利士人的軍隊了。”

從埃及運上來的車，每輛銀子六千八百四十克，馬每匹一千七百一十克。赫人眾王和亞蘭（“亞蘭”即今天“敘利亞”一帶的地方）諸王也都是這樣經他們的手買來的。

恐怖之聲常在他的耳中，太平的時候，強盜就來襲擊他。

那些下埃及求幫助，倚靠馬匹，倚靠眾多戰車，依靠十分強壯的馬兵，卻不仰望以色列的聖者，也不求問耶和華的，有禍了！

他們必大大震驚，因為神在義人的群體中。

若不能，你怎能擊退我主的臣僕中最小的軍長呢？你竟倚靠埃及的戰車和馬兵嗎？

羅波安王第五年，埃及王示撒上來攻打耶路撒冷，因為他們得罪了耶和華。示撒率領戰車一千二百輛，馬兵六萬，和他一同從埃及出來的路比人、蘇基人和古實人，多得無法數算。

基路伯的翅膀發出的聲音在外院也可以聽到，好像全能的神說話的聲音。

看哪，我要使他的心驚顫（“使他的心驚顫”原文作“放一個靈在他裡面”），他將聽見消息，就退回自己的地方去；我要使他在自己的國土倒在刀下。’”

牠們的胸甲像鐵甲，牠們翅膀的聲音好像許多馬車奔馳上陣的聲音。

次日，巴施戶珥把耶利米從枷鎖上解下來，耶利米就對他說：“耶和華不再稱你的名為巴施戶珥，卻要稱你為瑪歌珥．米撒畢（“瑪歌珥．米撒畢”意即“四圍驚慌”）。因為耶和華這樣說：‘看哪！我要使你自己和你所有的朋友都驚惶失措；他們必倒在他們仇敵的刀下，你也必親眼看見。我要把全猶大交在巴比倫王手中；他要把他們擄到巴比倫去，或用刀擊殺他們。

第二天早上，他們起來的時候，太陽照在水上，摩押人從那邊看見水紅得像血一樣。他們說：“這是血啊！一定是那些王互相攻擊，自相殘殺；現在，摩押人哪，去搶掠吧！”他們來到以色列營，以色列人起來，擊殺摩押人，摩押人就在以色列人面前逃跑；以色列人就攻進摩押，擊殺他們。他們毀壞城市，各人向一切肥沃的田地拋擲石頭，把田地填滿了，又堵塞一切水泉，砍下各種佳美的樹木，直到吉珥．哈列設只剩下石頭，甩石的兵把它包圍，攻擊它。摩押王見戰事激烈，無法抵抗，於是帶領七百持刀的兵，想要突圍到以東王那裡，可是不成功，於是他把那要接續他作王的長子，在城牆上獻為燔祭。以色列人就遭遇極大的忿怒，於是離開他，回到自己的地方去了。

地上的君王、大臣、軍長、財主、勇士和所有作奴隸的、自由的，都藏在山洞和巖穴裡。他們向山嶺和巖石說：“倒在我們身上吧！把我們藏起來，躲避坐在寶座上那位的面，和羊羔的震怒！
