以利沙說：『不可擊殺他們；你用刀用弓擄來的、哪裏可以擊殺他們呢？你要在他們面前擺設食物和水，讓他們喫喝，然後回到他們的主上那裏。』

回答说：“不可击杀他们！就是你用刀用弓掳来的，岂可击杀他们吗？当在他们面前设摆饮食，使他们吃喝回到他们的主人那里。”

他说：“不可击杀！这些人岂是你用刀用弓掳来给你击杀的呢？当在他们面前摆设饮食给他们吃喝，让他们回到他们主人那里。”

以利沙答道：“不可杀他们。岂可杀从战场上抓来的俘虏呢？给他们吃的喝的，让他们回自己主人那里吧。”

“ Do not kill them,” he answered.“ Would you kill those you have captured with your own sword or bow? Set food and water before them so that they may eat and drink and then go back to their master.”

“ Of course not!” Elisha replied.“ Do we kill prisoners of war? Give them food and drink and send them home again to their master.”

Elisha replied,“ Don’t kill them. Do you kill those you have captured with your sword or your bow? Set food and water in front of them so they can eat and drink and go to their master.”

But he answered,“ You shall not kill them. Would you kill those whom you have taken captive with your sword and your bow? Set bread and water before them, so that they may eat and drink, and go to their master.”

當那日、我必為我人民同田野走獸、空中飛鳥、和地上爬行物、立約；弓和刀劍及爭戰、我都要折斷而截止，好使他們安然躺臥着。

但是我告訴你們，要愛你們的仇敵，要為那逼迫你們的禱告。

仇恨你的若餓了，你就給他飯喫；若渴了，你就給他水喝；因為這樣行，你是揑炭火堆在他頭上，永恆主必賞報你。

因為我倚靠的不是我的弓；我的刀劍並不能使我得勝。

猶大家我卻要憐憫；我必憑着我永恆主他們的上帝來拯救他們；我不靠着弓、不靠着刀或爭戰、不靠着馬匹或馬兵去拯救他們。』

我打發了大黃蜂在你們前面，將亞摩利人的兩個王從你們面前趕出，並不是用你的刀，也不是用你的弓。

以色列人擄了他們的族弟兄、婦人兒女、共二十萬；又從他們中間劫掠了許多掠物，將掠物帶到撒瑪利亞。但那裏有永恆主的一個神言人名叫俄德、出來迎接那到撒瑪利亞來的軍隊，對他們說：『只因永恆主你們列祖的上帝惱怒了猶大人，他才將他們交在你們手裏，你們竟怒氣沖天，殺戮了他們。如今你們又心裏說要強迫猶大人和耶路撒冷人做你們的奴隸和婢女。這不是連你們也實實在在有得罪永恆主你們的上帝的罪麼？現在你們要聽我的話：要將你們從族弟兄中所擄來的俘虜釋放回去，因為永恆主已向你們大發烈怒了。』於是以法蓮人之中幾個為首的人、約哈難的兒子亞撒利雅、米實利未的兒子比利家、沙龍的兒子耶希西家、哈得萊的兒子亞瑪撒、起來攔阻那從戰陣中回來的人，對他們說：『你們不要將俘虜帶進這裏來，因為我們已得罪了永恆主了，你們心裏還說要增加我們的罪和過犯。我們的罪過實在夠大了；已經有永恆主的烈怒臨到以色列人了。』於是武裝的人將俘虜和掠物都放在首領們和全體大眾面前。以上記名的那些人就站起來，拉着那些俘虜和他們中間所有赤身裸體的人，從掠物中拿出衣服來給他們穿，鞋給他們着，又給他們喫，給他們喝，用油抹了他們；使一切走不動的人騎上了驢，把他們送到棕樹城耶利哥、他們族弟兄身邊，然後回撒瑪利亞去。

它若將和平的話答覆你，給你開門，那麼、城裏所有的人民、就都要給你做苦工、服事你。它若不肯同你講和，反要同你作戰，你就圍困那城。永恆主你的上帝把城交在你手中的時候，你要用刀擊殺城裏所有的男丁。只有婦女、幼小、牲口、和城裏一切所有的，就是被掠之物、你卻可以劫為己有；把你的仇敵被掠之物、就是永恆主你的上帝所賜給你的、你都可以喫用。離你很遠的城市、不是這些國的城市的、你都要這樣待它。只是永恆主你的上帝所賜給你以為業的這些別族之民的城市中、凡有氣息的、一個你也不要讓他活着；
