於是，亞哈召集了省長屬下的青年軍二百三十二人，又召集以色列全軍，共七千人。

對我說，『保羅，不用怕，你一定會站在凱撒面前，上帝也會保全所有和你同船的人。』

乃縵就去約旦河，照上帝僕人的話在河裡洗了七次，便潔淨了，皮膚變得像小孩子的一樣。

明哲人遇禍躲避，愚昧人前去受害。

「當你們看見但以理先知所說的『那帶來毀滅的可憎之物』站立在聖地的時候（讀者須會意），住在猶太地區的人要趕快逃到山上去，在屋頂上的人不要下來進屋收拾行李，

約翰看見很多法利賽人和撒都該人也來受洗，就對他們說：「你們這些毒蛇的後代！誰指示你們逃避那將臨的烈怒呢？

當我說某個惡人必滅亡時，如果你不告誡他，勸告他痛改前非，挽救他的性命，他必死在自己的罪中，而我要追究你的責任。如果你已經告誡他，他還是不肯離開自己的邪惡和罪行，他必死在罪惡之中，而你必免於罪責。如果一個義人偏離正道、犯罪作惡，我會使他跌倒，他必死亡。如果你不告誡他，他必死在罪惡之中，他以前的義行也不會被記念，而我要追究你的責任。如果你告誡他不要犯罪，他聽了你的告誡不再犯罪，他必保住性命，你也必免於罪責。」

挪亞因為有信心，在上帝指示他未來要發生的事之後，就懷著敬畏的心建造方舟，來救全家的人。他藉著信心定了那個世代的罪，並承受了因信而來的義。

第二天清晨，眾人起來去提哥亞的曠野。他們出發的時候，約沙法站著說：「猶大人和耶路撒冷的居民啊，請聽我說！要信靠你們的上帝耶和華，你們就必堅立；要相信祂的先知，你們就必得勝。」

他們在夢中得到指示不可回希律那裡，便改道返回了家鄉。
