And his servants came near and spoke to him, and said,“ My father, if the prophet had told you to do something great, would you not have done it? How much more then, when he says to you,‘ Wash, and be clean’?”

他的僕人走近前來對他說道：『我父啊，神言人若吩咐你一件大事，你難道不作麼？何況他只對你說：「你去洗澡，而得潔淨」呢？』

其僕進而謂之曰、我父歟、先知若命爾行一大事、爾豈不行之、況僅言沐浴而得潔乎、

其從者至前、告曰、我主歟、如先知以難成之事使爾、爾豈有所不為、況彼第言、濯身而成潔乎。

其僕至前告曰、我父歟、如先知以難成之事命爾、爾亦當為之、況第言浴身而成潔乎、

Naaman’s servants went to him and said,“ My father, if the prophet had told you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? How much more, then, when he tells you,‘ Wash and be cleansed’!”

Naaman’s servants went over to him. They said,“ You are like a father to us. What if Elisha the prophet had told you to do some great thing? Wouldn’t you have done it? But he only said,‘ Wash yourself. Then you will be pure and“ clean.” ’ You should be even more willing to do that!”

But his servants came near and said to him,“ My father, it is a great word the prophet has spoken to you; will you not do it? Has he actually said to you,‘ Wash, and be clean’?”

But his officers tried to reason with him and said,“ Sir, if the prophet had told you to do something very difficult, wouldn’t you have done it? So you should certainly obey him when he says simply,‘ Go and wash and be cured!’”

But his servants approached and said to him,“ My father, if the prophet had told you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? How much more should you do it when he only tells you,‘ Wash and be clean’?”

Then his servants approached and spoke to him, saying,“ My father, had the prophet told you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? How much more then, when he says to you,‘ Wash, and be clean’?”

And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean?

His servants approached and said to him,“ O master, if the prophet had told you to do some difficult task, you would have been willing to do it. It seems you should be happy that he simply said,“ Wash and you will be healed.”

His servants came near, and spoke to him, and said,“ My father, if the prophet had asked you do some great thing, wouldn’t you have done it? How much rather then, when he says to you,‘ Wash, and be clean?’”

Now when the king of Israel saw them, he said to Elisha,“ My father, shall I kill them? Shall I kill them?”

And Elisha saw it, and he cried out,“ My father, my father, the chariot of Israel and its horsemen!” So he saw him no more. And he took hold of his own clothes and tore them into two pieces.

Elisha had become sick with the illness of which he would die. Then Joash the king of Israel came down to him, and wept over his face, and said,“ O my father, my father, the chariots of Israel and their horsemen!”

Now Ebed-Melech the Ethiopian, one of the eunuchs, who was in the king’s house, heard that they had put Jeremiah in the dungeon. When the king was sitting at the Gate of Benjamin,Ebed-Melech went out of the king’s house and spoke to the king, saying:“ My Lord the king, these men have done evil in all that they have done to Jeremiah the prophet, whom they have cast into the dungeon, and he is likely to die from hunger in the place where he is. For there is no more bread in the city.”Then the king commanded Ebed-Melech the Ethiopian, saying,“ Take from here thirty men with you, and lift Jeremiah the prophet out of the dungeon before he dies.”

But there is a spirit in man, And the breath of the Almighty gives him understanding.Great men are not always wise, Nor do the aged always understand justice.

And I said to him,“ Sir, you know.” So he said to me,“ These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word,that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.

But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty;

And Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying,“ Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall be restored to you, and you shall be clean.”

let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

“ A son honors his father, And a servant his master. If then I am the Father, Where is My honor? And if I am a Master, Where is My reverence? Says the Lord of hosts To you priests who despise My name. Yet you say,‘ In what way have we despised Your name?’

There is also an antitype which now saves us— baptism( not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
