约沙法说：“这里有没有耶和华的先知？我们可以托他求问耶和华。”以色列王的一个臣仆答道：“沙法的儿子以利沙在这里，以前他是以利亚的助手。”

约沙法说：“这里不是有一位耶和华的先知吗？我们可以托他求问耶和华。”以色列王的一位臣仆说：“这里有沙法的儿子以利沙，他从前是服事以利亚的（“他从前是服事以利亚的”原文作“他从前倒水在以利亚手上”）。”

約沙法說：「這裏不是有耶和華的先知嗎？我們可以託他求問耶和華。」以色列王的一個臣子回答說：「這裏有沙法的兒子以利沙，就是從前服事以利亞的。」

But Jehoshaphat asked,“ Is there no prophet of the Lord here, through whom we may inquire of the Lord?” An officer of the king of Israel answered,“ Elisha son of Shaphat is here. He used to pour water on the hands of Elijah.”

But Jehoshaphat asked,“ Isn’t there a prophet of the Lord here? Can’t we ask the Lord for advice through him?” An officer of the king of Israel answered,“ Elisha is here. He’s the son of Shaphat. Elisha used to serve Elijah.”

And Jehoshaphat said,“ Is there no prophet of the Lord here, through whom we may inquire of the Lord?” Then one of the king of Israel’s servants answered,“ Elisha the son of Shaphat is here, who poured water on the hands of Elijah.”

But King Jehoshaphat of Judah asked,“ Is there no prophet of the Lord with us? If there is, we can ask the Lord what to do through him.” One of King Joram’s officers replied,“ Elisha son of Shaphat is here. He used to be Elijah’s personal assistant.”

But Jehoshaphat said,“ Isn’t there a prophet of the LORD here? Let’s inquire of the LORD through him.” One of the servants of the king of Israel answered,“ Elisha son of Shaphat, who used to pour water on Elijah’s hands, is here.”

But Jehoshaphat said,“ Is there no prophet of the Lord here, that we may inquire of the Lord by him?” And one of the king of Israel’s servants answered and said,“ Elisha the son of Shaphat is here, who used to pour water on the hands of Elijah.”

But Jehoshaphat said,“ Is there no prophet of the Lord here, that we may inquire of the Lord by him?” So one of the servants of the king of Israel answered and said,“ Elisha the son of Shaphat is here, who poured water on the hands of Elijah.”

But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of Jehovah, that we may inquire of Jehovah by him? And one of the king of Israel’s servants answered and said, Elisha the son of Shaphat is here, who poured water on the hands of Elijah.

But Jehoshaphat said,“ Isn’t there a prophet of the Lord here? Let’s inquire of Yahweh through him.” One of the servants of the king of Israel answered,“ Elisha son of Shaphat, who used to pour water on Elijah’s hands, is here.”

But Jehoshaphat said,[ Is there] not here a prophet of the LORD, that we may enquire of the LORD by him? And one of the king of Israel’s servants answered and said, Here[ is] Elisha the son of Shaphat, which poured water on the hands of Elijah.

Jehoshaphat asked,“ Is there no prophet of the LORD here that we might seek the LORD’s direction?” One of the servants of the king of Israel answered,“ Elisha son of Shapat is here; he used to be Elijah’s servant.”

But Jehoshaphat said,“ Isn’t there a prophet of Yahweh here, that we may inquire of Yahweh by him?” One of the king of Israel’s servants answered,“ Elisha the son of Shaphat, who poured water on the hands of Elijah, is here.”

约沙法说：“这里还有没有耶和华的先知，我们好求问他呢？”

以利沙离开他回去，宰了一对牛，用套牛的器具煮肉给百姓吃，随后就起身跟随以利亚，服事他。

你们称呼我老师，称呼我主，你们说的不错，我本来就是。我是你们的主，你们的老师，尚且洗你们的脚，你们也应当彼此洗脚。

就离席站起来，脱了衣服，拿一条手巾束腰，随后把水倒在盆里，开始洗门徒的脚，并用束腰的手巾擦干。

因为你们上一次没有抬这约柜，并且我们没有按规矩求问耶和华—我们的上帝，所以他冲出来攻击我们。”

又有行善的名声，就如养育儿女，收留外人，洗圣徒的脚，救济遭难的人，竭力行各样善事。

这样，扫罗为了他的不忠死了；因为他干犯耶和华，没有遵守耶和华的话，又因他求问招魂的妇人，

耶和华的仆人摩西死了以后，耶和华对摩西的助手嫩的儿子约书亚说：

以色列众人和全体士兵上到伯特利，坐在耶和华面前哭泣。那日，他们禁食直到晚上，又在耶和华面前献燔祭和平安祭。以色列人去求问耶和华；那时，上帝的约柜在那里。那时，亚伦的孙子，以利亚撒的儿子非尼哈侍立在约柜前。他们说：“我可以再出去与我弟兄便雅悯人打仗吗？还是停战呢？”耶和华说：“你们可以上去，因为明日我必把他交在你手中。”

但你们知道提摩太是经得起考验的，他与我为了福音一同服侍，待我像儿子待父亲一样。

众百姓都起来如同一人，说：“我们谁也不回自己的帐棚，谁也不回自己的家去！现在，我们要这样对付基比亚，照所抽的签去攻打他们。我们要在以色列各支派中，一百人选十人，一千人选一百人，一万人选一千人，为那到便雅悯的迦巴去的士兵运粮；因为基比亚在以色列中行了可耻的事。”于是以色列众人彼此联合如同一人，聚集攻击那城。

以色列人收下他们的一些食物，但是没有求问耶和华的指示。

然而，他依恋尼八的儿子耶罗波安使以色列陷入罪里的那罪，总不离开。

以利沙从伯特利上迦密山，又从那里回到撒玛利亚。犹大王约沙法第十八年，亚哈的儿子约兰在撒玛利亚登基，作以色列王十二年。

以色列人起来，上到伯特利去求问上帝说：“我们中间谁当首先上去与便雅悯人争战呢？”耶和华说：“犹大先上去。”

主耶和华不会做任何事情，除非先将奥秘指示他的仆人众先知。

但你们不可这样。你们中间最大的，倒要成为最小的；为领袖的，倒要像服事人的。是谁为大？是坐席的还是服事人的呢？不是坐席的大吗？然而，我在你们中间是如同服事人的。

大卫求问上帝说：“我可以上去攻打非利士人吗？你将他们交在我手里吗？”耶和华对他说：“你可以上去，我必将他们交在你手里。”

容我拿点水来，请你们洗脚，在树下休息。

我们看不见自己的标帜，不再有先知，我们当中也无人知道这灾祸要到几时。

大卫再求问上帝。上帝对他说：“不要从他们后头追上去，要绕道离开他们，从桑树林对面攻打他们。

因以色列人上去，在耶和华面前哀哭，直到晚上。他们求问耶和华说：“我可以再出兵与我弟兄便雅悯人打仗吗？”耶和华说：“可以上去攻打他们。”
