耶利米曰、萬軍之耶和華、以色列之上帝云、如爾出降於巴比倫王之牧伯、則可得生、斯邑不焚於火、爾及舉家、亦可生存、如爾不出降於巴比倫王之牧伯、是邑必付於迦勒底人手、焚之以火、爾亦不得脫於其手、西底家王謂耶利米曰、我恐迦勒底人、付我於投降之猶大人手、彼則侮我、耶利米曰、必不付爾、求爾循我所傳耶和華之命、爾則獲益、而存生命、如爾不出、耶和華有言示我曰、

蓋彼眾棄我、焚香於他神、以其手所為、激我之怒、故我發怒於此而不息、

瑣安之牧伯愚甚、法老有智之謀士、所謀愚蠢、何謂法老曰、我乃哲人之後、前王之胤耶、爾之智者安在、萬軍之耶和華為埃及所定者、任其知之以告爾、瑣安之牧伯為愚、挪弗之牧伯見惑、埃及支派之屋隅石、引其民於迷途、耶和華以悖戾之意、雜於其中、俾埃及所為乖謬、若醉人哇吐之際、步履蹁躚、

故耶和華震怒斯土、以書所載之詛加之、

今我必降諸災於爾、以及臣民、使爾知宇內無如我者、我若伸手、以疫擊爾、及爾之民、爾必見滅於斯世、然我之立爾、實欲顯我能於爾、且揚我名於天下、爾猶自高、禁阻我民、不釋之往乎、

智者安在、士子安在、斯世之辯者安在、豈非上帝使世之智為愚乎、
