Jehoiachin king of Judah, his mother, his attendants, his nobles and his officials all surrendered to him. In the eighth year of the reign of the king of Babylon, he took Jehoiachin prisoner.

Jehoiachin, the king of Judah, handed himself over to Nebuchadnezzar. Jehoiachin’s mother did the same thing. And so did all his attendants, nobles and officials. The king of Babylon took Jehoiachin away as his prisoner. It was in the eighth year of Nebuchadnezzar’s rule.

巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒把犹大王约雅敬的儿子耶哥尼雅，和犹大的众领袖、工匠与铁匠从耶路撒冷掳到巴比伦去。这事以后，耶和华使我看见在耶和华的殿前面摆着两筐无花果。

以下是尼布甲尼撒掳去的人民的数目：在他执政第七年，有犹大人三千零二十三名；

过了年，尼布甲尼撒派人去把约雅斤和耶和华殿里的珍贵的器皿，一起带到巴比伦来。他立了约雅斤的叔叔西底家，作犹大和耶路撒冷的王。

犹大王约雅斤被掳后第三十七年，就是巴比伦王以未．米罗达登基的那一年，十二月二十七日，他恩待（“恩待”原文作“使抬起头来”）犹大王约雅斤，把他从狱中领出来，

以下这一封信，是耶利米先知从耶路撒冷寄给被掳的祭司、先知和众民，以及尚存的长老，就是尼布甲尼撒从耶路撒冷掳到巴比伦去的。这是在耶哥尼雅王、太后、宫中的臣宰、犹大和耶路撒冷的领袖、工匠和铁匠从耶路撒冷被掳走以后。

犹大王约西亚的儿子约雅敬第四年，就是巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒第一年，有话临到耶利米，是关于犹大众民的。

“你要对那叛逆的民族说：‘你们不知道这些事是什么意思吗？’你要告诉他们：‘看哪！巴比伦王曾到耶路撒冷来，把其中的王和众领袖掳去，带他们到巴比伦那里去。

耶利米对西底家说：“耶和华万军的神、以色列的神这样说：‘你若出去归降巴比伦王的将领，你的性命就可以存活；这城也不会被火焚烧，你和你一家都可以存活。但你若不出去归降巴比伦王的将领，这城就必交在迦勒底人的手中；他们必放火烧毁这城，你自己也不能从他们的手里逃脱。’”

犹大王约雅斤被掳后第三十七年，就是巴比伦王以未．米罗达登基的那一年，十二月二十五日，他恩待（“恩待”原文作“使抬起头来”）犹大王约雅斤，把他从狱中领出来，

“我指着我的永生起誓（这是耶和华的宣告），犹大王约雅敬的儿子哥尼雅，虽然你是我右手上的印戒，我也要把你从手上脱下来，交在那些寻索你性命和你们惧怕的人手中，就是交在巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒和迦勒底人手中。我要把你和生你的母亲驱赶到异地去，你们不是生在那里，却要死在那里。你们（“你们”原文作“他们”）渴望归回本国，却不得回去。”哥尼雅这个人是被鄙视、被摔碎的瓶子，是没有人喜悦的器皿吗？他和他的后裔为什么被驱赶，被抛弃到他们不认识的地去呢？大地啊！大地啊！大地啊！要听耶和华的话。耶和华这样说：“你们要写下，这人算为无子，他的一生毫无成就；因为他的后裔中没有一人可以成功，能坐在大卫的王位上，再次统治犹大。”
