The king stood by the pillar and renewed the covenant in the presence of the Lord— to follow the Lord and keep his commands, statutes and decrees with all his heart and all his soul, thus confirming the words of the covenant written in this book. Then all the people pledged themselves to the covenant.

The king stood next to his pillar. He agreed to the terms of the covenant in front of the Lord. The king promised to serve the Lord and obey his commands, directions and rules. He promised to obey them with all his heart and with all his soul. So he agreed to the terms of the covenant written down in that book. Then all the people committed themselves to the covenant as well.

And the king stood by the pillar and made a covenant before the Lord, to walk after the Lord and to keep his commandments and his testimonies and his statutes with all his heart and all his soul, to perform the words of this covenant that were written in this book. And all the people joined in the covenant.

耶何耶大使王及民、與耶和華立約、俾為耶和華之民、又使王與民立約、

望見王循常例立於柱側、百夫長與吹角者侍於王側、四境之民懽忻吹角、亞他利雅裂衣、呼曰、叛矣、叛矣、

當順從爾上帝耶和華、而寅畏之、守其誡、聽其命、事之附之、

今爾有眾、牧伯、族長、長老、有司、以色列諸丁男、爾之子女妻室、營中賓旅、自採薪者、及汲水者、俱立於爾上帝耶和華前、使爾與於爾上帝耶和華之約與誓、即其今日與爾所立者、彼以爾為己民、己為爾之上帝、踐其前言、循其與爾列祖亞伯拉罕以撒雅各所誓者、此約與誓、我不第與爾曹立也、凡今日於我上帝耶和華前、與我同在、及不同在者、亦與立之、

願平康之上帝、曾以永約之血、使羣羊之大牧、我主耶穌、自死復生、

面錫安而詢其事曰、其來、連屬於耶和華、結永久弗忘之約、○

此誡命典章律例、乃爾上帝耶和華所命、以教爾者、使爾行之於爾所得為業之地、

立約、一心一意尋求其列祖之上帝耶和華、凡不尋求以色列之上帝耶和華者、無論尊卑男女、必致之死、乃大聲而呼、吹角與笳、向耶和華而誓、

宣讀約書、俾民聽聞、僉曰、耶和華所言、我悉遵行、摩西以血灑民曰、此血係乎盟約、即耶和華依此詞、與爾所立者、○

耶和華在何烈、與以色列人立約、此外又在摩押、諭摩西與以色列人立約、其言如左、

必以誠實公平仁義、指維生之耶和華而誓、列邦亦將以之自祝、以之為榮、○

緣此、我立盟約、書之於籍、我之牧伯、利未人祭司、鈐之以印、

耶和華之律純全、蘇人魂兮、耶和華之法真實、化愚為智兮、耶和華之訓正直、悅人心兮、耶和華之誡純潔、豁人目兮、耶和華之道清潔、而永存兮、耶和華之例真誠、而盡義兮、

今當與我上帝立約、必出此妻、屏其所生、從我主及懍遵我上帝命者之議、俱循法律而行、

民曰、我必奉事我上帝耶和華、而聽其言、是日約書亞與民立約、為之定典章律例於示劍、

我今所諭之誡命、爾若聽從、愛爾上帝耶和華、一心一意而奉事之、

餘民、祭司、利未人、司閽者、謳歌者、尼提甯人、及與異邦人絕交、從上帝律者、各偕妻孥、凡有知識聰明者、皆從同宗顯者、發誓設詛、必遵上帝僕摩西所傳上帝之律、守我主耶和華一切誡命、律例典章、不以我女嫁斯土之民、不為我子娶其女、如斯土之民於安息日、攜貨物糧食而鬻之、我儕於安息日、或聖日、必不購之、每屆七年、休息土壤、貸金者豁免之、我亦定例、每歲各輸金一舍客勒三分之一、供我上帝室中之役、如陳設之餅、日獻之素祭燔祭、安息日、月朔、節期之祭、與聖物、以色列族之贖罪祭、及我上帝室中諸用、我儕祭司利未人及庶民、掣籤、各依宗族、歲定厥期、獻柴於我上帝室、焚於我上帝耶和華壇、循律所載、又定厥例、歲攜初登之土產、始實之樹菓、薦於耶和華室、以我初胎之男、首生之牛羊、奉於我上帝室、給其中供職之祭司、循律所載、新麥之屑、與舉祭、諸樹之菓、及酒油、納諸祭司、貯於我上帝室之府庫、取田所產、什一以奉利未人、蓋利未人於我所居諸邑、得其物產之什一、利未人取什一時、亞倫子孫為祭司者、當有一人與俱、利未人自所得什一中、復取其什一、攜入上帝室、貯於府庫、以色列族及利未人、當攜穀酒油為舉祭、至藏聖所器皿之屋、即供職之祭司、司閽者、謳歌者、所居之處、我儕必不棄我上帝室焉、

摩西召以色列眾、告之曰、以色列人歟、我所諭爾之典章律例、爾當聽從、學習遵行、我上帝耶和華在何烈、與我儕立約、非與我祖立約、乃與我儕今日在此尚存者也、

當盡心盡性盡力、愛爾上帝耶和華、

惟視其有缺、則曰、主云、日將至矣、我與以色列家、及猶大家必立新約、非依我與其先祖所立之約、即在援其手導之出埃及時者、主云、彼不恆守我約、故我弗眷顧之、又云、斯日之後我與以色列家所立之約、乃以我律置其衷銘其心、我於彼為上帝、彼於我為民、勿須各訓其鄰里及其兄弟云、宜識主、蓋自卑至尊、皆必識我、以我將寬恕其不義、不復記其罪愆、約既曰新、則以前者為舊、夫舊而漸衰者、殆近於消滅矣、

且有新約中保耶穌、與所灑之血、此血所言、較亞伯為尤善、
