Furthermore, Josiah got rid of the mediums and spiritists, the household gods, the idols and all the other detestable things seen in Judah and Jerusalem. This he did to fulfill the requirements of the law written in the book that Hilkiah the priest had discovered in the temple of the Lord.

And that’s not all. Josiah got rid of those who got messages from people who had died. He got rid of those who talked to the spirits of people who had died. He got rid of the statues of family gods and the statues of other gods. He got rid of everything else the Lord hates that was in Judah and Jerusalem. He did it to carry out what the law required. That law was written in the book that Hilkiah the priest had found in the Lord’ s temple.

Moreover, Josiah put away the mediums and the necromancers and the household gods and the idols and all the abominations that were seen in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem, that he might establish the words of the law that were written in the book that Hilkiah the priest found in the house of the Lord.

Josiah also got rid of the mediums and psychics, the household gods, the idols, and every other kind of detestable practice, both in Jerusalem and throughout the land of Judah. He did this in obedience to the laws written in the scroll that Hilkiah the priest had found in the Lord’s Temple.

In addition, Josiah eradicated the mediums, the spiritists, household idols, images, and all the abhorrent things that were seen in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem. He did this in order to carry out the words of the law that were written in the book that the priest Hilkiah found in the LORD’s temple.

Moreover Josiah removed those who had familiar spirits, the wizards, and the teraphim, and the idols, and all the abominations that were seen in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem, that he might confirm the words of the law which were written in the book that Hilkiah the priest found in Yahweh’s house.

“不可转向招魂的，也不可求问行巫术的，免得被他们玷污。我是耶和华—你们的神。

并使他的儿子经火，又观星象，行法术，求问招魂的和行巫术的，多行耶和华眼中看为恶的事，惹他发怒。

城外有犬类、行邪术的、淫乱的、杀人的、拜偶像的，以及所有喜爱和行虚谎的人。

惟有查看那完美、使人自由的律法，并且时常遵守的，他不是听了就忘，而是切实行出来，这样的人在所行的事上必然蒙福。

米迦这个人有了神堂，又造了以弗得和家中的神像，派他的一个儿子作祭司。

因为以色列人必多日过着无君王，无领袖，无祭祀，无柱像，无以弗得，无家中神像的生活。

他行他父亲一切所行的道，事奉他父亲所事奉的偶像，敬拜它们，

希勒家大祭司对沙番书记说：“我在耶和华殿里发现了律法书。”希勒家把书递给沙番，沙番就读了。沙番书记到王那里，把这事回覆王说：“你的仆人已把殿里所发现的银子倒出来，交在管理耶和华殿督工的手里了。”沙番书记又向王报告说：“希勒家祭司递给我一卷书。”沙番就在王面前朗读那书。王听见律法书上的话，就撕裂衣服。王吩咐希勒家祭司与沙番的儿子亚希甘、米该亚的儿子亚革波、沙番书记和王的臣仆亚撒雅，说：“你们去，以所发现这书上的话，为我、为百姓、为全犹大求问耶和华；因为我们祖先没有听从这书上的话，没有遵照一切所写有关我们的去行，耶和华就向我们大发烈怒。”

埃及人的心神在里面耗尽，我要破坏他们的计谋。他们必求问偶像和念咒的，求问招魂的与行巫术的人。

那时撒母耳已经死了，以色列众人为他哀哭，把他葬在他的本城拉玛。扫罗曾在国内驱除招魂的和行巫术的人。非利士人集合，来到书念安营；扫罗集合以色列众人在基利波安营。扫罗看见非利士的军队，就惧怕，心中大大战兢。扫罗求问耶和华，耶和华却不藉梦，或乌陵，或先知回答他。扫罗吩咐臣仆说：“为我找一个招魂的妇人，我好去问她。”臣仆对他说：“看哪，在隐‧多珥有一个招魂的妇人。”

他们把奉到耶和华殿的银子运出来的时候，希勒家祭司发现了耶和华藉摩西所传的律法书。希勒家对沙番书记说：“我在耶和华殿里发现了律法书。”希勒家把书递给沙番。沙番把书拿到王那里，又把这事回覆王说：“凡交给仆人的手所办的事，他们都办好了。耶和华殿里所发现的银子已经倒出来，交在督工和工匠的手里了。”沙番书记又向王报告说：“希勒家祭司递给我一卷书。”沙番就在王面前朗读那书。王听见律法的话，就撕裂衣服。

“因犹大王玛拿西行这些可憎的恶事，比先前亚摩利人所行的一切更坏，使犹大人拜偶像，陷入罪里，

所以，凡血肉之躯没有一个能因律法的行为而在神面前称义，因为律法本是要人认识罪。

后来，我们往那祷告的地方去时，有一个被占卜的灵附身的使女迎面走来，她使用法术使她的主人们发了大财。她跟随保罗和我们，喊着说：“这些人是至高神的仆人，对你们传讲救人的道路。”她一连好几天这样喊叫，保罗就心中厌烦，转身对那灵说：“我奉耶稣基督的名吩咐你从她身上出来！”那灵立刻出来了。
