He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord and followed completely the ways of his father David, not turning aside to the right or to the left.

Josiah did what was right in the eyes of the Lord. He lived the way King David had lived. He didn’t turn away from it to the right or the left.

希西迦效法他祖先大卫，做耶和华视为正的事。

所罗门说：“你的仆人——我父大卫本着诚实、公义、正直的心在你面前行事，你就向他大施恩慈，并且一如既往地以厚恩待他，让他儿子今天继承他的王位。

孩童的举动是否纯良，都显明他的本性。

不可偏右偏左，要远离恶事。

除了赫人乌利亚事件以外，大卫一生都做耶和华视为正的事，没有违背耶和华的任何命令。

“倘若这不肖子有一个好儿子，他看见父亲的所作所为，不愿步父亲的后尘。他不肯在山上吃祭偶像之物，不拜以色列人的偶像，不玷污别人的妻子，不欺压他人，不扣留抵押品，不抢夺财物，反而给饥饿的人食物吃，给赤身露体的人衣服穿，不压榨贫穷的人，不放债取利，反而遵守我的典章，顺从我的律例，这人必不因父亲的罪恶而死亡，他必活着。

耶和华与约沙法同在，因为他效法他祖先大卫起初所行的，没有寻求巴力，

若你像我仆人大卫一样听从我的一切吩咐，遵行我的道，做我视为正的事，遵守我的律例诫命，我就与你同在，巩固你的王朝，像巩固大卫的王朝一样，使你统治以色列。
