因猶大人違棄我、焚香於他神、他神或作異邦之神以其所為、干犯我怒、故我向此處震怒、如烈火不熄、

But My people have exchanged their glory For that which is of no benefit.Be appalled at this, you heavens, And shudder, be very desolate,” declares the Lord.“ For My people have committed two evils: They have abandoned Me, The fountain of living waters, To carve out for themselves cisterns, Broken cisterns That do not hold water.

Then the sons of Israel again did evil in the sight of the Lord, and they served the Baals and the Ashtaroth, the gods of Aram, the gods of Sidon, the gods of Moab, the gods of the sons of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines; so they abandoned the Lord and did not serve Him.And the anger of the Lord burned against Israel, and He sold them into the hands of the Philistines, and into the hands of the sons of Ammon.

But they got involved with the nations And learned their practices,And served their idols, Which became a snare to them.They even sacrificed their sons and their daughters to the demons,And shed innocent blood, The blood of their sons and their daughters Whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan; And the land was defiled with the blood.So they became unclean in their practices, And were unfaithful in their deeds.Therefore the anger of the Lord was kindled against His people, And He loathed His inheritance.So He handed them over to the nations, And those who hated them ruled over them.Their enemies also oppressed them, And they were subdued under their power.

and say to the forest of the Negev,‘ Hear the word of the Lord: this is what the Lord God says:“ Behold, I am going to kindle a fire in you, and it will consume every green tree in you, as well as every dry tree; the blazing flame will not go out and the entire surface from south to north will be scorched by it.And all mankind will see that I, the Lord, have kindled it; it will not go out.” ’ ”

But go now, lead the people where I told you. Behold, My angel shall go before you; nevertheless on the day when I punish, I will punish them for their sin.”

Therefore this is what the Lord God says:“ Behold, My anger and My wrath will be poured out on this place, on human and animal life, and on the trees of the field and the fruit of the ground; and it will burn and not be quenched.”

“ But if you or your sons indeed turn away from following Me, and do not keep My commandments and My statutes which I have placed before you, but you go and serve other gods and worship them,then I will cut Israel off from the land which I have given them, and the house which I have consecrated for My name, I will expel from My sight. So Israel will become a saying and an object of derision among all peoples.And this house will become a heap of ruins; everyone who passes by it will be appalled and hiss and say,‘ Why has the Lord done such a thing to this land and this house?’And they will say,‘ Because they abandoned the Lord their God, who brought their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and they adopted other gods and worshiped and served them, for that reason the Lord has brought all this adversity on them.’ ”

Then the sons of Israel cried out to the Lord, saying,“ We have sinned against You, for indeed, we have abandoned our God and served the Baals.”And the Lord said to the sons of Israel,“ Did I not save you from the Egyptians, the Amorites, the sons of Ammon, and the Philistines?And when the Sidonians, the Amalekites, and the Maonites oppressed you, you cried out to Me, and I saved you from their hands.Yet you abandoned Me and served other gods; therefore I will no longer save you.Go and cry out to the gods which you have chosen; let them save you in the time of your distress.”

but they continually mocked the messengers of God, despised His words, and scoffed at His prophets, until the wrath of the Lord rose against His people, until there was no remedy.

I will eliminate your carved images And your memorial stones from among you, So that you will no longer bow down To the work of your hands.

So he abandoned the Lord, the God of his fathers, and did not walk in the way of the Lord.

Their idols are silver and gold, The work of human hands.They have mouths, but they cannot speak; They have eyes, but they cannot see;They have ears, but they cannot hear; They have noses, but they cannot smell;They have hands, but they cannot feel; They have feet, but they cannot walk; They cannot make a sound with their throat.Those who make them will become like them, Everyone who trusts in them.

“ But Jeshurun became fat and kicked— You have become fat, thick, and obstinate— Then he abandoned God who made him, And rejected the Rock of his salvation.They made Him jealous with strange gods; With abominations they provoked Him to anger.They sacrificed to demons, who were not God, To gods whom they have not known, New gods who came lately, Whom your fathers did not know.You forgot the Rock who fathered you, And forgot the God who gave you birth.“ The Lord saw this, and spurned them Because of the provocation by His sons and daughters.

For a fire has flared in My anger, And it burns to the lowest part of Sheol, And devours the earth with its yield, And sets on fire the foundations of the mountains.
