But the people did not listen. Manasseh led them astray, so that they did more evil than the nations the Lord had destroyed before the Israelites.

But the people didn’t pay any attention. Manasseh led them astray. They did more evil things than the nations the Lord had destroyed. He had destroyed them to make room for the Israelites.

所以人若知道該行善，卻不去行，這在他就是罪了。

『現在呢、我們的上帝啊，這事之後、我們還有甚麼話可說呢？因為我們離棄了你的命令，就是你由你僕人眾神言人經手所吩咐的，說：「你們要去取得為業之地是污穢之地，有四圍各地別族之民的污穢，有他們那可憎惡之事、就是使全地從這邊到那邊都滿了他們那樣的不潔淨的。

『但他們居然悖逆，竟背叛了你，將你的律法丟在背後，殺害了你的神言人、那些勸告他們回轉歸向你的，而大大犯了褻慢你的罪。

耶路撒冷啊，耶路撒冷，你常殺害神言人，扔石頭打死奉差遣到你裏面去的人。我多少次願意聚集你的兒女，彷彿母雞把自己的小雞聚集在翅膀底下，你們卻不願意！

雖有惡人到處橫行，你卻輕蔑下流人像蛆蟲。

你不是只按他們所行的而行，不是只照他們可厭惡之事去作；你乃是以那為小可；故此你一切所行的居然比她們更腐壞。

不過我有一件要責備你的，就是你容讓那婦人耶洗別；她說自己是神言人，又教導又迷惑我的僕人們去行邪淫、變節拜偶像、喫祭偶像之物。

他們卻直戲笑上帝的使者，藐視上帝的話，直譏誚他的神言人，以致永恆主向他人民發烈怒、到無法救治。

你又勸告他們、要使他們轉而歸服你的律法；他們卻狂妄傲慢，不聽從你的誡命，逕自犯了違背你典章的罪（人若遵行典章，就必因這而活着），扭轉倔強的肩頭，硬着脖子，而不聽從。但你多年寬容他們，又用你的靈、由你的神言人們經手勸告他們，他們仍不側耳聽從；因此你將他們交在四圍各地別族之民手中。

我若沒有來對他們講話，他們就沒有罪；如今呢、他們的罪是無可推諉的了。

撒瑪利亞所犯的罪還沒有你的一半；你增加了可厭惡之事比她還多，以致你姐妹因你所行一切可厭惡之事倒顯得罪輕。你既判定你姐妹比較罪輕，那麼你，你也就要擔受你自己的羞辱啊；因為你犯的罪比她們的更可厭惡，她們比你更顯得罪輕，那麼你，你也就要擔受你自己的羞辱了。

我們也沒有聽從你僕人、眾神言人們、那些奉你名向我們的王和首領跟父老及國中眾民說了話的人。

我們沒有聽永恆主我們的上帝的聲音，而遵行他的指示，就是他由他僕人神言人們經手所擺在我們面前的。以色列眾人都越犯了你的律法而偏行，不聽你的聲音，以致在上帝僕人摩西律法書上所寫的咒詛和誓言都傾倒在我們身上，因為我們犯罪得罪了上帝。

我永恆主才是你的上帝，這曾把你從埃及地領上來的。你要大大張開了口，我就使你的口充滿。

以法蓮欺壓人，蹂躪是非；因為他情願隨從虛空神。
