当你们举目观看你们的上帝耶和华赐给天下万民的日、月、星辰等天上万象时，不要受诱惑去跪拜、供奉它们。

我若见太阳发光，明月在天上移动，

耶户召集了所有的人，对他们说：“亚哈供奉巴力还不够热心，我耶户要更热心地供奉他。我要向巴力献大祭，你们去把巴力的先知和祭司及所有拜巴力的人一个不漏地召来。凡不来的人休想活命。”耶户这样做，是想用计杀尽拜巴力的人。耶户下令召开祭拜巴力的庄严聚会，于是他们发出通告。

王吩咐大祭司希勒迦及其副手和殿门守卫清除耶和华殿里用来祭拜巴力、亚舍拉及天上万象的一切器具，将其搬到耶路撒冷城外汲沦溪旁的田野烧掉，又把灰烬带到伯特利。从前，犹大各王任命祭司在犹大各城和耶路撒冷周围的丘坛烧香。现在，约西亚除掉那些祭司，又除掉向巴力、日、月、星辰及天上万象烧香的祭司。

因为你遵守暗利的恶规，效法亚哈家的恶行，随从他们的计谋，所以我要使你荒凉，让你的居民成为笑柄。你们要蒙受列国的羞辱。”

他们取了公牛预备好，然后从早上到正午不断地呼求：“巴力啊，求你应允我们！”可是毫无动静。他们又绕着自己筑的祭坛跳个不停。

他与亚哈家一样步以色列诸王的后尘，因为他娶了亚哈的女儿为妻，做耶和华视为恶的事。

以利亚走到众人面前说：“你们三心二意要到什么时候呢？如果耶和华是上帝，你们当跟从祂；如果巴力是上帝，你们就跟从他吧！”他们都默不作声。

亚哈谢是亚哈家的女婿，他步亚哈家的后尘，做耶和华视为恶的事。

他执政第八年，虽然还年幼，却开始寻求他祖先大卫的上帝。他执政第十二年，开始清除犹大和耶路撒冷的丘坛、亚舍拉神像、雕刻和铸造的偶像。

也许你会说，‘我们倚靠我们的上帝耶和华。’希西迦不是拆除了祂的庙宇和祭坛，又吩咐犹大和耶路撒冷的人要在耶路撒冷的祭坛前敬拜祂吗？

这希西迦不是曾经废掉耶和华的丘坛和祭坛，吩咐犹大人和耶路撒冷人只在一个祭坛前敬拜，在祭坛上烧香吗？
