昔我滅撒馬利亞、及亞哈家、亦必循此準繩、滅耶路撒冷、必行拂拭、如人拭盤即覆之、

我將以量撒瑪利亞之繩、與權亞哈家之錘、施於耶路撒冷、或作昔我滅撒瑪利亞及亞哈家必循此準繩以滅耶路撒冷必拭去耶路撒冷、如人拭盂即覆之、

I will stretch out over Jerusalem the measuring line used against Samaria and the plumb line used against the house of Ahab. I will wipe out Jerusalem as one wipes a dish, wiping it and turning it upside down.

I will measure out punishment against Jerusalem, just as I did against Samaria. I used a plumb line against the royal family of Ahab. I used it to prove that they did not measure up to my standards. I will use the same plumb line against Jerusalem. I will wipe out Jerusalem, just as someone wipes a dish. I will wipe it and turn it upside down.

And I will stretch over Jerusalem the measuring line of Samaria, and the plumb line of the house of Ahab, and I will wipe Jerusalem as one wipes a dish, wiping it and turning it upside down.

I will judge Jerusalem by the same standard I used for Samaria and the same measure I used for the family of Ahab. I will wipe away the people of Jerusalem as one wipes a dish and turns it upside down.

I will stretch over Jerusalem the measuring line used on Samaria and the mason’s level used on the house of Ahab, and I will wipe Jerusalem clean as one wipes a bowl— wiping it and turning it upside down.

I will stretch over Jerusalem the line of Samaria and the plummet of the house of Ahab, and I will wipe Jerusalem clean just as one wipes a bowl, wiping it and turning it upside down.

And I will stretch over Jerusalem the measuring line of Samaria and the plummet of the house of Ahab; I will wipe Jerusalem as one wipes a dish, wiping it and turning it upside down.

And I will stretch over Jerusalem the line of Samaria, and the plummet of the house of Ahab; and I will wipe Jerusalem as a man wipeth a dish, wiping it and turning it upside down.

I will stretch over Jerusalem the measuring line used on Samaria and the mason’s level used on the house of Ahab, and I will wipe Jerusalem clean as one wipes a bowl— wiping it and turning it upside down.

And I will stretch over Jerusalem the line of Samaria, and the plummet of the house of Ahab: and I will wipe Jerusalem as[ a man] wipeth a dish, wiping[ it], and turning[ it] upside down.

I will destroy Jerusalem the same way I did Samaria and the dynasty of Ahab. I will wipe Jerusalem clean, just as one wipes a plate on both sides.

I will stretch over Jerusalem the line of Samaria, and the plummet of Ahab’s house; and I will wipe Jerusalem as a man wipes a dish, wiping it and turning it upside down.

他又指示我一件事，看哪，主手拿鉛垂線，站立在依鉛垂線建好的牆邊。耶和華對我說：「阿摩司，你看見甚麼？」我說：「鉛垂線。」主說：「看哪，我要在我子民以色列中吊起鉛垂線，不再寬恕他們。

耶和華定意拆毀錫安的城牆；他拉了準繩，不將手收回，定要毀滅。他使城郭和城牆都悲哀，一同衰敗。

鵜鶘、豪豬要得它為業，貓頭鷹、烏鴉要住在其間。耶和華必將空虛的準繩、混沌的石垂線，拉在以東之上。

以色列啊，你的百姓雖多如海沙，惟有剩下的歸回。滅絕之事已成定局，公義必如水漲溢。

你走了你姊姊的路，所以我必把她的杯交在你的手中。」主耶和華如此說：「你必喝你姊姊的杯，那杯又深又廣，盛得很多，使你遭受嗤笑譏刺。你必酩酊大醉，滿有愁苦。你姊姊撒瑪利亞的杯，驚駭和淒涼的杯，你必喝它，並且喝乾。甚至咀嚼杯片，撕裂自己的胸脯；因為我曾說過。這是主耶和華說的。」

凡亞哈家在耶斯列所剩下的，他的大臣、密友、祭司，耶戶全都殺了，沒有留下一個倖存者。

我以公平為準繩，以公義為鉛垂線；冰雹必沖去謊言的避難所，大水必漫過藏身之處。

看哪，我必召北方的眾族和我僕人巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒前來攻擊這地和這地的居民，並四圍所有的國民。我要將他們盡行滅絕，以致他們令人驚駭、嗤笑，並且永久荒涼。這是耶和華說的。

因此，看哪，我必使災禍臨到耶羅波安的家，把屬耶羅波安的男丁，無論是奴役的、自由的，都從以色列中剪除。我必除滅耶羅波安的家，如同人掃除糞土，直到消滅。

你要添上木柴，使火着旺，將肉煮爛，加上香料，烤焦骨頭；你要把空鍋放在炭火上，將鍋燒熱，把銅燒紅，鎔化其中的污穢，除淨其上的銹。

何細亞第九年，亞述王攻取了撒瑪利亞，把以色列人擄到亞述，安置在哈臘與歌散的哈博河邊，以及瑪代人的城鎮。

有一位大力的天使舉起一塊石頭，好像大磨石，扔在海裏，說：「巴比倫大城也必這樣猛力地被扔下去，絕對見不到了。彈琴、歌唱、吹笛、吹號的聲音，在你中間絕對聽不見了；各行手藝的技工在你中間絕對見不到了；推磨的聲音在你中間絕對聽不見了；燈臺的光在你中間絕對不再照耀了；新郎和新娘的聲音在你中間絕對聽不見了。你的商人原來是地上的顯要；萬國也被你的邪術迷惑了。

所以耶和華如此說：現在我回到耶路撒冷，仍要施憐憫，我的殿要重建在其中，準繩必拉在耶路撒冷之上。這是萬軍之耶和華說的。

「我必使巴比倫為豪豬佔據，成為泥沼之地；我要用滅命的掃帚掃淨它；這是萬軍之耶和華說的。」

耶和華說：『看哪，我必使災禍臨到你，把你除滅。以色列中凡屬亞哈的男丁，無論是奴役的、自由的，我都要剪除。我必使你的家像尼八的兒子耶羅波安的家，又像亞希雅的兒子巴沙的家，因為你惹我發怒，又使以色列陷入罪裏。』論到耶洗別，耶和華說：『狗必在耶斯列的城郭吃耶洗別。凡屬亞哈的人，死在城中的必被狗吃，死在田野的必被空中的鳥吃。』」
