Once more a remnant of the kingdom of Judah will take root below and bear fruit above.

Those who remain from the kingdom of Judah will be like plants. Once more they will put down roots and produce fruit.

And you who are left in Judah, who have escaped the ravages of the siege, will put roots down in your own soil and will grow up and flourish.

The surviving remnant of the house of Judah will again take root downward and bear fruit upward.

So the Lord saved Hezekiah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib king of Assyria and from the hand of all his enemies, and he provided for them on every side.And many brought gifts to the Lord to Jerusalem and precious things to Hezekiah king of Judah, so that he was exalted in the sight of all nations from that time onward.

It may be that the Lord your God heard all the words of the Rabshakeh, whom his master the king of Assyria has sent to mock the living God, and will rebuke the words that the Lord your God has heard; therefore lift up your prayer for the remnant that is left.”

If the Lord of hosts had not left us a few survivors, we should have been like Sodom, and become like Gomorrah.
