拉伯沙基說：「你們去告訴希西家說，亞述大王如此說：『你所倚靠的有甚麼可仗賴的呢？

將軍對他們說：「你們去告訴希西家，大王亞述王如此說：『你倚靠甚麼，讓你如此自信滿滿？

亞述的將軍說：「你們去告訴希西迦，偉大的亞述王說，『你憑什麼這樣自信呢？

拉伯沙基對他們說：“你們要對希西家說：‘亞述大王這樣說：你所倚賴的這種防禦算是甚麼呢？

參謀長對他們說：『你們去對希西家說：「大王亞述王這麼說：你所倚靠的這種倚靠心算得了甚麼？

拉伯沙基謂之曰、其告希西家曰、大王亞述王云、爾所恃者何耶、

臘沙基曰、爾當告希西家、亞述大王云、爾誰恃、

拉伯沙基謂之曰、爾曹告希西家曰、亞述大王如是云、爾何所恃耶、

The field commander said to them,“ Tell Hezekiah:“‘ This is what the great king, the king of Assyria, says: On what are you basing this confidence of yours?

The field commander said to them,“ Give Hezekiah this message. Tell him,“‘ Sennacherib is the great king of Assyria. He says,“ Why are you putting your faith in what your king says?

And the Rabshakeh said to them,“ Say to Hezekiah,‘ Thus says the great king, the king of Assyria: On what do you rest this trust of yours?

Then the Assyrian king’s chief of staff told them to give this message to Hezekiah:“ This is what the great king of Assyria says: What are you trusting in that makes you so confident?

Then the royal spokesman said to them,“ Tell Hezekiah this is what the great king, the king of Assyria, says:‘ What are you relying on?

And Rabshakeh said to them,“ Say now to Hezekiah,‘ This is what the great king, the king of Assyria says:“ What is this confidence that you have?

Then the Rabshakeh said to them,“ Say now to Hezekiah,‘ Thus says the great king, the king of Assyria:“ What confidence is this in which you trust?

And Rabshakeh said unto them, Say ye now to Hezekiah, Thus saith the great king, the king of Assyria, What confidence is this wherein thou trustest?

Then the Rabshakeh said to them,“ Tell Hezekiah this is what the great king, the king of Assyria, says:‘ What are you relying on?

And Rabshakeh said unto them, Speak ye now to Hezekiah, Thus saith the great king, the king of Assyria, What confidence[ is] this wherein thou trustest?

The chief adviser said to them,“ Tell Hezekiah:‘ This is what the great king, the king of Assyria, says:“ What is your source of confidence?

Rabshakeh said to them,“ Say now to Hezekiah,‘ The great king, the king of Assyria, says,“ What confidence is this in which you trust?

我祖先所滅的那些國的神明，有誰能救自己的百姓脫離我的手呢？難道你們的上帝能救你們脫離我的手嗎？現在，不要讓希西家這樣欺騙你們，誘惑你們，也不要相信他，因為沒有一國一邦的神明能救自己的百姓脫離我的手和我祖先的手，你們的上帝也絕不能救你們脫離我的手。』」西拿基立的臣僕還說了一些話來毀謗耶和華上帝和他的僕人希西家。

「你們當剛強壯膽，不要因亞述王和跟隨他的大軍恐懼驚慌，因為與我們同在的，比與他們同在的更大。與他們同在的是血肉之臂，但與我們同在的是耶和華－我們的上帝，他必幫助我們，為我們爭戰。」百姓因猶大王希西家的話就得到鼓勵。

他說：「我的官長豈不都是君王嗎？迦勒挪豈不像迦基米施嗎？哈馬豈不像亞珥拔嗎？撒瑪利亞豈不像大馬士革嗎？既然我的手已伸到了這些有偶像的國，他們所雕刻的偶像過於耶路撒冷和撒瑪利亞的偶像，我豈不照樣待耶路撒冷和其中的偶像，如同我待撒瑪利亞和其中的偶像嗎？」主在錫安山和耶路撒冷成就他一切工作的時候，說：「我必懲罰亞述王自大的心和他高傲尊貴的眼目。」因為他說：「我所成就的事是靠我手的能力和我的智慧，因為我本有聰明。我挪移列國的地界，搶奪他們所積蓄的財寶，並且像勇士，使坐寶座的降為卑。我的手奪取列國的財寶，好像人奪取鳥窩；我得了全地，好像人拾起被棄的鳥蛋；沒有振動翅膀的，沒有張嘴的，也沒有鳴叫的。」

哈馬的王，亞珥拔的王，西法瓦音城的王，希拿和以瓦的王，都在哪裏呢？』」

你們這些人哪，你們把我的尊榮變為羞辱，要到幾時呢？你們喜愛虛妄，尋找虛假，要到幾時呢？（細拉）

「你們要對猶大王希西家如此說：『不要聽你所倚靠的上帝欺哄你說：耶路撒冷必不交在亞述王的手中。

「你們要對猶大王希西家如此說：『不要聽你所倚靠的上帝欺哄你說：耶路撒冷必不交在亞述王的手中。

你們若對我說：我們倚靠耶和華－我們的上帝，希西家豈不是將上帝的丘壇和祭壇廢去，並且吩咐猶大和耶路撒冷的人說：你們當在耶路撒冷這壇前敬拜嗎？

王說：「這大巴比倫豈不是我用大能大力建為首都，要顯示我威嚴的榮耀嗎？」

你若對我說：我們倚靠耶和華－我們的上帝，希西家豈不是將上帝的丘壇和祭壇廢去，且吩咐猶大和耶路撒冷的人說：你們只當在這一個壇前敬拜嗎？

王如此說：『你們不要被希西家欺哄了，因他不能救你們脫離我的手。不要聽憑希西家說服你們倚靠耶和華，他說，耶和華必要拯救我們，這城必不交在亞述王的手中。』

「亞述王西拿基立如此說：『你們倚靠甚麼，還留在耶路撒冷受困嗎？希西家說：耶和華－我們的上帝必救我們脫離亞述王的手，這不是誘惑你們，使你們受飢渴而死嗎？
