Even while these people were worshiping the Lord, they were serving their idols. To this day their children and grandchildren continue to do as their ancestors did.

They worshiped the Lord. But at the same time, they served the statues of their gods. And to this day their children and grandchildren continue to do what their people before them did.

So these nations feared the Lord and also served their carved images. Their children did likewise, and their children’s children— as their fathers did, so they do to this day.

So while these new residents worshiped the Lord, they also worshiped their idols. And to this day their descendants do the same.

They feared the LORD but also served their idols. Still today, their children and grandchildren continue doing as their ancestors did.

以及凡在屋巔、崇拜天象者、並崇拜耶和華、指耶和華而誓、亦指瑪勒堪而誓者、

今當寅畏耶和華、以真以誠崇事之、去除爾祖昔在河東、暨在埃及所事之神、惟崇事耶和華、爾若以事耶和華為不善、今日可擇所欲事者、或爾祖在河東所事之神、或爾所居斯土、亞摩利人之神、至我及我家、必事耶和華、民對曰、我決不離棄耶和華、而事他神、蓋我上帝耶和華導我祖及我出埃及、脫於奴隸之室、行大異蹟、使我目擊、護我於所行之途、所過之國、耶和華又於我前驅逐諸民、即居斯土之亞摩利人、故我亦必事耶和華、以其為我上帝也、約書亞曰、爾不能事耶和華、因彼乃維聖之上帝、忌邪之上帝、不赦爾之罪愆、爾若離棄耶和華、而事異族之神、則彼福爾之後、轉而禍爾、至於滅亡、

我知爾諸行、乃不寒不熱、我願爾或寒或熱、爾既為溫、不熱不寒、我必吐爾出諸口、

猶大便雅憫之敵、聞俘囚之眾、為以色列之上帝耶和華建殿、則詣所羅巴伯與族長、謂之曰、請許我與爾同建、蓋我尋求爾之上帝、如爾曹然、自亞述王以撒哈頓攜我來時、以迄於今、與之獻祭、所羅巴伯與耶書亞、及其餘以色列族長曰、建上帝室、爾曹勿與、惟我儕為以色列之上帝耶和華自建之、循波斯王古列所命、
