They forsook all the commands of the Lord their God and made for themselves two idols cast in the shape of calves, and an Asherah pole. They bowed down to all the starry hosts, and they worshiped Baal.

They turned away from all the commands of the Lord their God. They made two statues of gods for themselves. The statues were shaped like calves. They made a pole used to worship the female god named Asherah. They bowed down to all the stars. And they worshiped the god named Baal.

And they abandoned all the commandments of the Lord their God, and made for themselves metal images of two calves; and they made an Asherah and worshiped all the host of heaven and served Baal.

They rejected all the commands of the Lord their God and made two calves from metal. They set up an Asherah pole and worshiped Baal and all the forces of heaven.

籌思既竟、作二金犢、告民曰、詣耶路撒冷甚難、昔導以色列族出自埃及之上帝即此。

從尼八子耶羅破暗所行、猶為細事、乃娶西頓王、謁巴力女、耶洗別為后、遂服事崇拜巴力、

爾仰觀天象、有日月星辰焉、恐爾迷眩、奉事崇拜之、天下億兆既行此、爾之上帝耶和華亦姑聽之、

其父希西家廢諸崇坵、馬拿西復建之、築祭壇、宗巴力、作偶像、從以色列王亞哈所為、崇拜天象、而服事焉。

亦作偶像、較以色列前王更甚、干以色列族之上帝耶和華震怒。

服事崇拜巴力、干以色列族上帝耶和華震怒、凡其所行、皆濟父之惡也。

祖母馬迦於林間立偶像、故貶其太后之位、斫其所奉之像、焚於汲淪溪旁。

民往燬巴力殿、摧其祭壇、斫其偶像、殺其祭司馬擔於壇前、祭司耶何耶大使有司統轄耶和華殿。

作偶像者、悉為虛妄、其所慕者無益、彼明知其不見不聞、當生愧怍。誰鑄無益之偶像、以像上帝哉、

亞倫受之、鎔鑄其金、刀刻為犢、有稱之者曰、以色列族乎、導爾出埃及之上帝、即此。

昔彼悅事、俯伏祈禱、天上日月、今其骨為三光所暴、人不拾而瘞之。視若糞壤。

火燃厥黨、焰焚惡眾兮。民在何烈、鑄犢成形、而崇拜之兮、昔歸榮上帝、今則不然、拜跪犢像、犢惟嚙蒭兮、

高岡之巔茂林之下、立諸偶像、

我所諭之道、彼違甚速、鑄犢崇拜祭祀、稱之曰以色列族乎、導爾出埃及之上帝、即此。

耶戶集民眾、告曰、亞哈服事巴力、尚未勤也、耶戶將事之尤勤。今我必獻大祭、奉事巴力、故當集巴力諸先知、祭司、僕役、不遺一人、有不至者殺毋赦。耶戶言此、蓋欺人也、欲滅崇拜巴力之人耳。耶戶曰、當告於民、必有大會、奉事巴力。遂告焉。耶戶遣人、遍以色列地、凡拜巴力者咸集、無一人不至。群入巴力之殿、充斥殿宇。耶戶命掌禮服者、攜衣以至、使眾拜巴力者服之。乃循其命。耶戶同哩甲子約拿撻、入巴力殿、告諸拜巴力者云、爾當遍閱、惟拜巴力者在此、耶和華之僕、勿雜其中。既入欲獻禮物燔祭、耶戶使八十人、立於門外、告之曰、我誘彼入此、有遁其一、爾當償命。獻燔祭畢。耶戶命趨承者及其長曰、入而殺拜巴力之人、勿遺其一。趨承者及其長、以刃擊眾、擲尸於外、後入巴力內殿、攜諸偶像、出而焚之。毀巴力之像、摧其殿宇、以之為廁、迄今猶存、堪以為證。於是耶戶滅巴力在以色列地。
